Its bad enough that this is an outdated and half broken hotel but was told last night by the night porter there was a gas leak in the basement and this has been going on for quite some time and the manager wont do anything about it and he wasnt supposed to say. This news was after suffering a bad... More

Looking like one of those old Indian Restaurants, it was cheap and the staff cheerful. Coming off the mountains and arriving late in the day, the fact they allowed us to order in take-aways and kept the bar open was just the ticket. Perfect to crash out after a hard day, nothing to hold us to linger in the hotel.... More

Stayed here over the weekend as we were at an event in Raglan Castle, and this was the nearest hotel available due to other big events on in S. Wales. Arrived 8pm on Friday and booked in, lobby was presentable and staff very friendly and helpful. Dropped things off, and went to the restaurant for a meal. We were the... More

I went on a Meat Gold course for work and they put us up in this hotel. The staff were very nice. The rooms are the big let down in this hotel. They are in serious need of an update, very dated. But they were clean. Although no one else in my group had this problem, I had a missing... More

Booked three rooms for three nights at this hotel, received a call from the owner asking us if we definitely wanted the rooms as it is bank holiday and the rugby also. We confirmed that we wanted the three rooms for the three nights as we are attending a family wedding and would have been travelling from Ipswich (257 miles).... More

We were looking for a cheap hotel in the Cardiff area for a single night stay and came across this hotel online. The pictures looked pretty good, so we decided to reserve two rooms. We happened to be coming into Merthyr Tydfil during the worst construction detours imaginable. We could not find the road where the hotel was located, even... More

Stayed here for two nights with my partner and we found the hotel to be perfectly acceptable for the price (£120 for two nights). The decor is a little outdated, but overall the room was large and clean, the bathroom included a bath for a change, and nice hot water. Breakfast was good, ours was hot and served quickly. The... It looks like what it is, a 70s hotel, the décor being all pastel, green, lilac and gold. My room was spacious, with a bath, which is always a plus, clean, comfortable bed, but would benefit from being redecorate, Dinners were generous in size, not cordon bleu, but acceptable. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.

Booked/checked in to this place last minute - on first impressions at the lobby it seemed ok for a 3* hotel. Then to be told the price for the night was up from the £49 to £69.00... My partner and I were too tired to bother arguing the case with the receptionist and we just took the key and followed... More
