Great price. Run by a really friendly couple. They couldn't have been more helpful. Nice Welsh breakfast. Lockup for bikes. Nice bar. Hot showers. Clean rooms. A boutique hotel it is not, but perfect for our needs. Highly recommended. Don't forget to ask for biscuits!

If your looking for a b&b for bike park then this is ideal. Ignore the bad reviews as they're usually left by people who complain for a living. 5 of us stayed the night before a day at bike park which is less than 5 mins away and it was just the ticket. A few ( too many ) pints... More

Where do I start...? If you can find somewhere else to stay, then do it...!!! After a mix up with bookings, my company booked me into this hotel at the last moment.. "its the only one available", After a 350 mile journey I would have driven another 20 miles NOT to stay here. When you read the reviews about Merthyr... More

We take reviews very seriously and have addressed your issues below; For your information Merthyr Tydfil is part of a huge regeneration programme and the building you referred to as burnt out is just a shell and awaiting restoration. We give all our guests the option of either leaving their car parked securely in the carpark behind the building; or... More

We stayed at this little hotel for one night as we were brining our daughter back from Cardiff Uni, we couldn't stay in Cardiff as it was a bank holiday and there was rugby on so prices were very expensive. Found the Imperial on Booking.com and decided that it would be ideal for a one night stay. We were greeted... More

Value for money, clean and the friendliest welcome you can imagine. Merthyr itself could do with some TLC, but if you are looking for somewhere to stay in the area I doubt you'll be able to find a warmer welcome. Secure car park which would benefit from a combination lock or key available to guests. Steep staircase which less mobile... More

My friend and I were at this lovely B&B over the weekend whilst doing Mountain Biking in the Beacons and visiting Bike-Park-Wales. Everything about this little gem is excellent, Secured car park, a secured area to put our bikes overnight, great location, and mostly the service offered by this wonderful couple is far beyond "going that extra mile" Will always... Stayed her for a night when attending a family wedding. The owners were so helpful, letting us check in (very) early so we had time to change for the wedding and ordering us a local taxi. They really made us feel welcome and happily helped my mum with her luggage up the (steep!) stairs. The bar was friendly and welcoming... More

The landlady was most hospitable and the bar area inviting, homely and friendly. If it was close to home I would regularily pop in.. She welcomed us like a friend and would not hesitate to reccommend this hotel.

OK not a designer place but who needs that when you have warm hospital hosts, clean and comfy rooms, a pleasant bar lounge downstairs and a good hearty breakfast. Also as mentioned secure parking if you wish and if you don't there is parking on the road outside. So it is a quirky building (which adds to the charm) and... More

We were here for one night on business with a friend. The car was locked away in a compound safely. The hotel lounge was large, well decorated and comfy. The bedrooms with bathrooms - one double and one single were clean, again well decorated, warm and cosy with comfy beds. Marielise is a caring and warm landlady who made us... More
