Great Beach. Good view of the island of St. John and Tortola. Two brothers islands and Shark Island in the bay. Visit Red Hook for some good food and fun. Rent a Sailboat from West Indian windsurfer. John will take Care of you. Catch the fairy over to St. John and spend the day. Enjoy!! more

Sapphire was perfect. It's not really a resort; more a condo complex, which was fine for us. Reminded us of going to Destin, FL and renting a place for the week....except ALOT more beautiful views. Not too crowded on the days the ships were in port and the beach was great. We rented from an individual through VRBO.com and were... more

We absolutely loved our stay @ Sapphire Beach. As has been mentioned, I strongly suggest renting from a private owner (vrbo.com); I knew exactly what we were getting before we got there. The unit I rented was amazing with a great kitchen. This allowed us to go to Red Hook (2 minute drive) for groceries and cook in the unit.... more

We had traveled there 3 years in a row. Each year the resort was worse then the last. Nothing is being done to upgrade or even keep it nice. 2 years the restaurants were closed for renovations, you couldn't tell the difference, with out letting anyone know. What a dump. more

This resort is in a law suit status and the property and grounds have not been maintained. It is in a very sad state and is just deteriorating. more

Management response from
Marsha Evans-Mielke, single condo owner

The reviewer obviously stayed in one of the units that has not been remodeled. As always I recommend using one of the for rent by owner sites so you can see pictures and read reviews of the individual units. Landscaping is constantly being done. It is true the bars and restaurant are closed, but there is the Banana Cabana between...

We just returned from Sapphire and it was really wonderful. We regret that we did not spend more time at the resort. It was very private at this time of the year. The beach is absolutely the best resort beach on the island. It ranges from a rocky area that is pretty, with waves, to sugar sand beaches. The snorkeling... more

Just a quick review to say that we really loved staying at Sapphire, but we did stay in a privately owned condo which makes all the difference. We knew exactly what we were getting when we made our reservation. From the beaches we snorkled on the island, Sapphire has the most to offer from all sorts of fish to turtles,... more

My wife and I stayed on the second floor of the end unit by the Marina for 4 nights in late January for our 30th wedding anniversary. We rented from VRBO and everything went smoothly. If you are looking for a swanky hotel with upscale offerings and all the amenities, Sapphire resort won't satisfy you. But my wife and I... more

Heading back to Sapphire in a couple weeks for our 4th time. We bought a time share there 3 years ago. I wanted to go on record to say Saphhire Beach is NOT A RESORT!!! They are condos. Condos we consider our home away from home. There is no "personal sevice"- you check in and you're on your own. There's... more

Our condo was D-204 in the D building. Snorkling gear is included in the rental price but wireless internet cost $32 for 7 days. The location is what it's all about! We're easy to please. All we really need is A/C that works well, hot water for the shower and a comfortable clean bed. We got all that and much... more
