Recently returned from the Elysian Beach Resort (7/19/08) and all the previous negative reviews were right on the money! We had read a number of bad reviews about building X and that is where we stayed. On the very first morning the toilet would not flush, (FYI- it takes 9 full pots of water using the pot from the coffee... More

Let me say at the start that The Elysian's rooms cannot be compared with The Ritz or Marriott's Frenchman"s Reef, but this is a lovely little resort that is owned mainly by residents who live there full-time or at least several months a year, with the remainder used as hotel rooms and timeshare weeks. I think that it is because... More

We loved everything about the resort. It was our honeymoon and we are so glad we stayed at Elysian. The pool and hot tub was fantastic and we loved our room, had a great view. The employees at the Elysian were very friendly and accomodating. We read so many reviews prior to our stay and were pleasantly suprised that most... More

The grounds, exterior , and beach-front are well manicured and attractive. However, the time-share rooms are a dump. The rooms are cooled with old window AC units. As a result, there is a constant din of the window units running, along with unhealthy dampness and an awful mildew smell. The mattresses and pillows were horribly worn and uncomfortable. The ceiling... More

The hotel needs some major renovation especially the rooms. They have outdated furnitures. Our lamp is our room is dirty and the bed is in dire need of a new mattress. We read some review about "bed" bugs and "sand" bugs and we came PREPARED with some Bug Spray and it helped (although I have some few bites the last... More

In the space of two days I've counted 27 bites on my right leg and 22 on my left and I still have 4 more days left. My husband and 9 month old baby are here for a quiet getaway. It is quiet and the grounds are beautiful but that's about it. There are two restaurants on the resort and... More

My wife and I just spent the last week (May 10-17 08) at the Elysian, and I was concerned by some of the other reviews. To the contrary, I found the resort to be very nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. The rooms did seem to be due for a remodel or update, but the room we... More

My beau and I stayed at the Elysian for a week and had a great time. Although the resort was not top quality, it was clean and comfortable. We stayed near the pool on the first floor which made it easy to get to the restaurant and beach. As well, since the resort does not have an elevator, this came... More

My husband and I stayed at the Elysian for our anniversary. It was a great, relaxing stay. The beach is cozy and quiet. The trees on the beach make it great for those couples that want the best of both worlds (sun and shade). The room that we had was adequate but could use some updating and remodeling - which... More

We have just returned from St. Thomas and had a wonderful relaxing week. We stayed at the Elysian Beach Resort. In going, by reading reviews of where we stayed, there was some concerns. However, the stay at Elysian was terrific. The check-in went smooth. We did check in on a Friday and did hear that those who checked in the... More
