We flew into St. Thomas to spend a week in a villa in St. John and then a couple of extra days in St. Thomas at the end of the trip. The Wyndham is a beautiful, hilly resort! The views from the ocean view rooms are great! We could see right into the clear water and out to St. John. The pool area is great...lots of pool chairs and 3 individual pools with the middle... more

After reading some negative reviews about this resort, my husband & I were skeptical about staying there. However, we were pleasantly surprised upon arrival. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. The beach was small but seemed pretty private and it wasn't overcrowded. The pool area has a waterfall and grotto area. There was a bar near the pool, and there was a waitress on the beach taking drink orders. The rooms were clean and... more

Thank you very much for your comments and feedback about the resort. I am sorry that you did not find enough organized activities since we have recently added karaoke in the evenings at the Turtle Rock Bar and will be offering more entertainment in the Ocean Club including dancing after dinner. We look forward to welcoming you back.

I stay at sugar bay hotel from june 30 to july 9 and was please with the hotel. Kind of pricey but probably the best hotel on the island with the expecation of the ritz carlton. Plenty activies to do fitness center , arcade, bumper boats, slot machines, etc. The staff was helpful and freindly. The rooms were kind of outdate but the view was unbelieve. Out of five star I rate the hotel with three... more

We went to the US Virgin Islands for our 20th Anniversary. We contacted the management and told them of our milestone and they upgraded our room to a full ocean view at no charge. They also had a complimentary cheese tray in our room upon arrival. The Wyndham seems to be one of the nicer places on St Thomas. Keep in mind that you are in the Carribean so there is the overall laid-back attitude... more

Congratulations on your 20th anniversary. Thank you so much for your comprehensive feedback. We do make every effort to clean and protect the 31 acres of our resort, however, as you noted, there are many areas that are difficult to access. We appreciate your feedback on the Spa and will certainly share your comments. We look forward to welcoming you back to St Thomas and Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort and Spa.

Booked a NWA World Vacation package for the two of us, including non-stop airfare from Atlanta, airport transfers, and 4 nights at the Wyndham with a $100 food credit, for $1165 total. We choose this hotel from the NWA options because we wanted to be near the ferry to St John at Red Hook, and didn't want to pay the much higher prices to stay on St John. The Wyndham was an excellent value. Round... more

Our recent stay at the Wyndham Sugar Bay on St Thomas was a good, solid hotel/resort experience. The stay was brief, just one night, but we were able to test out the basics of the hotel during that time. Check in was bumpy when the front desk clerk told us that she put us in a room with a king bed as per our reservation. Unfortunately the room had two doubles. After going back to... more

Thank you very much for your comments and valuable feedback. Please accept our sincere apologies for the service issue in the restaurant and thank you for the feedback about our bellmen - we will be sure to recognize his positive behavior. Our pool is scheduled to be resurfaced this year during a quieter period so that we do not inconvenience our guests. We look forward to welcoming you back to our resort.

My husband and I stayed here for the 4th of July weekend and had an incredible experience. We upgraded to the "Clean air" room due to both of us having asthma and I am glad we did. The room was newly updated, roomy, with a full, private balcony, with possibly the best views of the island. We had a direct oceanfront room and you could see St. John as well. Since St. John had fireworks... more

The hotel provided everything that we could have ever wanted for our trip. The views from the hotel were breathtaking. The pools, spa, gym, and restaurants were fantastic! Everything was there for you, bar by the pool, rafts, cabanas, towels at the pool, shuttle service, etc. Interestingly, the hospitality was what would definetly make us come back. The food at each restaurant was delicious! We kept saying each night that each meal was our favorite... more

We stayed at the Wyndham for 6 nights in February. The lobby was beautiful and the staff for check in to check out was very nice and helpful. The rooms were nice and views were amazing. The beach was nice and quiet it made it tranquil getting away. The beach was rocky getting out but once you were out the water was amazing and snorkling was great too. We took a tour of the Island,... more

To their credit, the resort tried to accomodate us with another room but the filth was everywhere - so bad that I took pictures, sent them to Wyndham corporate and w/in weeks received a FULL REFUND. We wound up checking in to the Marriott Frenchman's Reef - a much, much higher end hotel for not that much extra cost. Was 100% worth it - saved our trip. In a nutshell, we check in and the... more

I am very sorry to learn of your experience and assure you that the condition of the rooms that you saw are not our normal standard. We do have plans to resurface all parking lots and repair the loose asphalt. Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you were able to enjoy your visit to St Thomas.
