This was the worst traveling experience I have ever had and I have traveled to many parts of the world. The first day there, during orientation, someone with a pass key went into our room and stole all of our cash. During orientation there was a suggestion to get a safety deposit box if we did not have an in... More

We have just returned from a two week vacation at Magens Point Resort wherein we used a banked RCI week as well as our purchased timeshare week. My wife and I have different feelings regarding the value of our timeshare purchase at this point in time, but we both agree that without the RCI name the Magen’s Point Resort would... More

What happened at magens point resort to my family in the first day was awful. It was awful because our first room which was room 333 it was infested with "blister bugs" and then later we walked in the room upstairs to find a bat on the floor. If you do stay in that room make sure to look in... More

We had read some negative reviews, and were a little leery, but the concern proved unfounded. We arrived on Saturday and were warmly greeted by the staff. Steve and Sandy are a wonderful couple who exercise a management role at the resort. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Our room was clean and comfortable. We had a beautiful view of... More

March 12,2006 We vacationed at Magens Point Resort in January 2006 and all I can say is it was an experience! yes,I have to agree with most of the reviews it is a dump! If I were a shareholder I wouuld be very concerned where my money was going ,it certainly not going into the resort. It is so run... More

The resort (Magens Bay) receptionists are impolite, reluctant to help with information. Maintenance assistance although often required is very slow and inefficient. The room was cleaner than we expected. The pool is small but nice located close to the restaurant. The restaurant is great. We agreed that is the best on the island. One can have formal diner indoors or... More

I went there the week before Thanksgiving, I went through my travel service network - TSN (they said it was a four star place!!) I guess they never stepped foot in the resort or saw recent pictures of the run-down rooms! So we made the best of it, after all, I didn't go to St. Thomas to watch T.V or... More

Totally discusted. This place is completely run-down. No security (we were given keys to already occuppied rooms and on a separate occassion, someone else was given keys to ours). The store was never open. Cats everywhere, there is cat feses (runny) on the side walks "all the time" and the feces stench never leaves. Filthy rooms (the same mops used... More

We stayed one week in our times share the first week of July 2005. This place has all the potential for an outstanding experience on St Thomas - good location, wonderful view, an excellent restaurant and island like atmosphere in the bar and no pretense. But as everyone knows it needs work and has been neglected. We particularly liked the... More

have never been so repulsed by a hotel in my life. That is saying a lot since I am in the Navy and have seen plenty of dumps around the world. I only wish I had done some research before I planned this stay. The buildings were half painted with various wood pieces missing with tons of mold all over... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Magens Point is a two and a half star, unpretentious and very relaxed resort facing Magens Bay. Our facilities include two restaurants, one Italian finer dining featuring a wine-mojito bar, and the pool sports bar with burgers, bbq, pizza and sandwiches. We offer two jacuzzis, tennis courts, a coffee-deli-wine on site shop with breakfast, a gaming room, a small fitness center offering also yoga, zumba and massage services. All our studios and villas have been tastefully redone, and are fully equipped with kitchenettes, microwaves and small fridges, plus energy efficient air conditioning units. Most units also face Magens Bay, and you can wake up to spectacular views of the bay, or watch the sun set from your balcony while sipping the cocktail of your choice.Last year RCI awarded us recognition for excellence in hospitality services, and since 2010 we have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars upgrading our facilities. We may not be for everyone, true. But if you are looking for that "limin" effect that locals brag about.. come stay with us. We promise you an unforgettable experience. Magens Point is what the islands should be all about. ... more   less
