We chose the Beachcomber for a hotel during our wedding week in the Virgin Islands because we used to live there and loved Beachcomber's bar and atmosphere. Also, it is one of the most affordable places on island and very near the airport. It was the right choice! I had no trouble securing a group rate and making my reservation... more

I have been staying at the Beachcomber for 12 years, until 3 years ago it was like family there. The staff and management alike always treated us like we were coming home each time we visited. The new management could care less about the guests, or the Hotel for that matter. It has become very run down and folks who... more

We are a family of 4 with children ages 6 and 9. Needed a place to stay on St. Thomas for one night so that we could make an early flight home. Wanted a good value near the airport on the beach, so we weren't aiming high. We ended up paying $270 for a hostel-style room--$199 was the base rate... more

After reading raving reviews of this property, I booked a room. My granddaughter and I lasted one night. In the morning, we moved over to Emerald Beach right next door. Beachcomber had an overwhelming moldy odor in the room . It was in dire need of updating, and looked well worn and tacky. The beach in front of the hotel... more

We just returned from a week's stay in room #123, on the beachfront. We had also stayed in one of the same beachfront rooms, back in 1976 or 1977. So, over 30 years since our last visit. We were as charmed this time, as on the original visit. Not a lot has changed. We talked to other people with similar... more

Our room had mildew and /or mold. The place looked clean enough. Maybe the nasty air quality came from the carpet. Turning on the air conditioner only made it harder to breathe. Could it have been the insecticides? My allergies were full blown. Time at the beach was great! Aside from the hotel trying to get off the island was... more

This is the 6th time we have stayed here. They have continually upgraded the rooms. We found it to be clean and convenient. The staff has improved over the years and the bar can't be beat. Rebecca was great. The beach is wonderful and this is a great place to stay when you are pre or post charter. This is... more

Just returned from two weeks at the Island Beachcomber. If you are looking for a clean hotel on a beautiful beach, this is the spot for you. If you are into "guest services" and other amenities I would stay elsewhere. The staff was friendly and accommodating. Loved the beach bar. We visited last year and had to return again. We... more

We have stayed at the Island Beachcomber before and we just stayed there again last week. This is not a 5 star hotel, but it is clean, has a great bar, and is on a beautiful stretch of beach. The rooms are basic, and include a mini fridge and a coffee maker. All we need the room for is to... more

If you want to be near the water without going broke, check out this spot. Grounds are quite lovely, bar is fun (but quite loud on karaoke nights!). It seems like locals stay here, too. Had a great time sitting outside and listening to the waves. Beach was blissfully empty when we went in early June. Our air conditioner didn't... more
