My husband and I were in St Thomas on an Oasis of the Seas cruise for his 60th Birthday, and in fact St Thomas that day he did turn 60, We took a taxi to Blackbeard's Castle only to find it closed which was a real bummer (hello there are cruise ships in port and it is summer) and this... More

We stayed here 1 night on our way home from St Thomas. We booked the cheaper room. Laurie warned me this would be a modest room. Modest is fine, one small window looking at the steps. This was no problem for us. This is one of those places you MUST wear slippers at all times. The carpet was pretty disgusting.... More

This is the perfect example of a first rate property and location left to languish... the kind of place you wish you could take the owners in your arms and ask them why they stopped caring.... lightbulb sockets missing, expired rancid yoghurts for breakfast, coffee mate instead of milk, otis splunker packaged muffins instead of fresh from bakery down the... We planned to stay at Blackbeards for one night. We booked and paid for our room in advance. Upon ariival we were told we were not staying there but at their other property "Hotel 1829" . I will say the room was very clean, but VERY small. We joked we were sleeping in a closet. Double bed only, and you... More

So again, me and the husband had to do a brief booking in St Thomas. We had found Hotel 1829 online and decided to book since they had availability. Once we got to town, off of the ferry, we decided to walk to the hotel (from Charlotte Amalie). The walk wasn't bad at all and when we got to the... More

My wife I were looking for a place to stay that would feel like old world Saint Thomas. The Hotel 1829 was exactly what we were looking for. It is not the fanciest or newest hotel in Saint Thomas but it is definetly the most unique and has some of the nicest staff. Wade, and Doug were great, they both... More

Romantic, great location with views. They have a wonderful porch to enjoy your coffee in the morning, you can walk everywhere from this inn/hotel. Beautiful gardens throughout the hotel, in the courtyards.

I’ve had a many drink over the years in St. Thomas and fortunately my brother turned me on to this place on my trip here this year. Blackbeards revenge. Talk about a drink loaded with just about everything you can think but yet so smooth! I mean really……..I drink a lot and this was like drinking candy until about 45... More
