This hotel is easily accessible with a rental car, if you can stay focused on driving on the left side of the road. Taxis seemed to be the choice for a lot of guests. It is pleasantly isolated from the busy downtown area but less than 10 minutes from Wendy's, McDonald's, KMart etc. if you need to get a snack... more

I just returned from my trip to St. Thomas for my 40th birthday and it was wonderful. The weather was 85 and sunny almost every day with intermittent showers that lasted all of 10 minutes. The views from the Marriott are likely the best on the island. It is situated on the harbor and is great. There are three facilities... more

I used my Marriott points to book a four-day vacation, and based on the previous reviews, I upgraded my stay to the Morning Star portion of the resort. I'm glad that I did. Prior to our arrival, I received an email from the Morning Star's front desk manager, Kirsten, asking when we would be arriving and be sure to tell... more

Don't even waste your time or money at this hotel. The hallways definitely smell like mildew and for the price I paid, the room was terrible. There was water damage on the ceiling and walls. The walls were crumbling from mold and mildew. The staff was completely rude in the restaurants. I expected at least a clean and comfortable room... more

We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef & Morning Star Beach Resort nine years ago for our honeymoon and decided to return for a 5 night vacation over the Thanksgiving holiday using some of our Marriott reward points. Our room was in the Morningstar portion of the resort. We have a young child so this location was ideal for us... more

This is obviously a hotel that is working hard to restore itself to its long-held 4-star status. It's easy to see that a lot of new money is being invested. We were nervous before going. We've read the critques ... and maybe we got lucky ... but I can report that our room and all the common areas we saw... more

My husband and I were so excited to go to St. Thomas to celebrate our 25th anniversary however Frenchmens Reef staff and hotel ruined it. The hallway outside our room smelled like mildew and the room wasn't too much better. We requested a handicapped accessible room but when we arrived we were given a non-accessible room. The front desk staff... more

This was our first trip to the Caribbean and it could not have been better. We stayed at Morningstar and it was exceptional. The room was large and comfortable with a ice maker and small refrigerator. A few down sides to the room: the A/C unit is very loud and there is not any sound proofing between the rooms. We... more

We spent the most relaxing week at the Marriot's Frenchman's Reef at the end of October, all-inclusive package. The hotel room is ok, big and clean, however I wouldn't rate is a 4-star. The hotel is under major renovation and when we checked-in we got a room that was on the floor where most of the rooms were under renovation,... more

Summary Not a place for kids, my 6 year old daughter was the only child I saw during the first 4 days of our stay, other than one baby. After that I did see two kids, around 4 and 7. Hotel is run down and hard to get around. Originally had room at Frenchman's reef. It had a great view... more
