We stayed at the Marriott Morning Star May 8-May 11, 2008 in the Garden building. Overall I had a lovely stay. The location is great right on the beach (some rocks but soft sand), had incredible view overlooking the town, many restaurant choices (casual beach bar to elegant, usual Marriott prices and quality), the rooms were decent but I found... more

On 4/26/08 to 5/3/08 we went to the Marriott for the fourth time. My daughter takes me on vacation every year and after researching another location, we came back to St Thomas. I am 75 years old and loved the whole experience. Yes, there are 90 steps, but after 50 you can choose to go right or left to take... more

Just returned from a lovely week at the Morningstar portion of the resort. We debated which part of the hotel to stay at prior to the trip and were very glad we choose Morningstar over the Reef for the following reasons: 1) If you are a beach person - you are steps away from your room 2) Morning Star buildings... more

We just returned from a 7-day stay at the Frenchman's Reef section of the Marriott. While not a perfect stay, it was not horrible. Some things to note: be prepared to walk. If you're staying in the Frenchman's Reef section, the beach is a good 95+ stairs to get to and from! There was a beach elevator, but it only... more

I will keep his short and sweet. Had great expectations for this place. It met my expectations in some areas and did not in others. The GOOD: Beach is awesome here (not handicapped friendly and is a good 15 min walk from the resort however, just be aware of that in case you need it. Food: Food was good at... more

Pros: Gorgeous setting, friendly staff who tried very hard to please, fabulous room and bath with comfy mattresses, flat screen TV and luxurious furnishings. We ate at Havana Blue and the food was fabulous but expensive as one would expec t at an ocean front location. The restaurant was very romantic and had lots of atmosphere. The shuttle from Frenchman's... more

We stayed for a week at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef. We had a waterview room in the main building. The room was clean and housekeeping did a good job all week. We tried all of the restaurants both at the hotel proper and at Morningstar. In general, service is slow (but it is that way in all the islands). The... more

This was my first trip to St. Thomas and I enjoyed it very much. I stayed in one of the Morning Star beachfront rooms. The room was clean with a large bathroom. Maid service is twice daily. It was always nice to come back after dinner to find our wet towels from the day's beach trips to be gone and... more

We spent the week of March 16, 2008 at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef Resort. We have stayed at a number of Marriott resorts including the JW in Cancun and the Marriott on St. Kitts. The one on St. Thomas doesn't come close to the other Marriott resorts we have stayed at. The service at Frenchman's Reef was very inconsistent, with... more
