I just got back from St. Thomas and stayed at the Frenchman's Reef part of the Marriott resort. I was extremely nervous after reading many reviews and so I had to come home and write one myself to hopefully ease some nerves. The resort itself is in a perfect location. I've never seen water that blue in my life. The... more

Just got back from a 7 day stay at the Marriot: Fisherman's Reef. We stayed in one of the royal suites on the 8th floor. Overall, it was probably one of our least pleasant hotel stays we've had in awhile. Pro's: - Relatively good location. You are close to downtown although most of the sailboat / power boat / fishing... more

The hotel itself has a wonderful location and is beautiful and well-kept. The hotel customer service has very much to be desired. When we arrived they were going to put us in a room with one king-sized bed. There were 4 of us. On the printout that I had with me, it specifically stated that we were guaranteed two beds.... more

The resort its self was outstanding. It's located right on the beach, beautiful views from every restaurant, great weather. Unfortunately however, customer service is definitely not a priority here. That being said, if you are thinking of staying here, I definitely recommend it but I have a few suggestions. You absolutely NEED to purchase the all inclusive package. A friend... more

Great place to go to forget about the real world. The lobby and pool area were beautiful. Easy access to a gorgeous beach. There was an "Adventure Desk" with tons of information about any activity you could think of to do on the island. Great bars and friendly, accomodating bartenders... but bring your wallet, paradise is not cheap. more

The Good: My boyfriend and I stayed in the Morning Star portion of the Marriott and found it to be nicely manicured, peaceful, and well cared for. The rooms are right next to the beach and the area is much more relaxed and romantic than the main resort. Each room has a large balcony and ours had a nice view... more

We stayed at the Marriott Frenchman's Reef part of the hotel June 26-30. Our room had a view of the harbor. The room was fairly spacious and had a small balcony. The tv was modern and the tables and countertops had granite on them. Some of the decor is a bit retro but once you got used to it you... more

We were concerned about making reservations at The Marriott, especiallyafter reading so many mixed reviews. Upon further analysis we determined that fewer negatives comments were about Morning Star, thus we made our booking on that side of the property. Upon arrival we saw many sad faces in the lobby (main), but were kindly told once we spoke to a rep.... more

This is a great hotel, But be aware, it is secluded and away from town, you will pay $6-$10 per person to leave the resort. Wife and I were going for pizza one night and cabby quoted $10 each way pp to take my family of 4 to the Pizza shop in Red Hook. Marriott charges you $12 pp to... more

My husband and I stayed at Marriott's Frenchmen Reef and Morning Star Beach Resort for our 25th. anniversary and my birthday. The location meaning St. Thomas, is marvelous but the management was horrible. 1. Our room wasn't ready and we were asked to leave our cell phone number and have a seat at the Sunset Grille until the room was... more
