As stated before this property has been owned by the bank. I have heard that it has been sold and hopefully improvements will start soon. The bar/restaurant is going to close and reopen under new ownership in the fall (maybe Oct). I am excited that there will finally be an owner and am looking forward to renovations.

Bankrupt 5 years ago and bank spends nothing on upkeep. Cottages painted over bad wood and rust, windows don't close all the way, pool pump broken and pool unusable, restaurant only burgers and average drinks a few days per week, beach is mostly shells and seaweed just 20 feet from shore, beds were good but no amenities, cable was always... This resort was a pleasant surprise. The beach was fantastic and I loved snorkeling near the beach. One day I counted 20 different species of fish. The cabins were small but comfortable and kept very clean. Though the place was changing ownership staff did everything to keep us happy. We extended our stay from 7 days to 10 days. Make... More

It pains me to give this place only a three but the status of the facilities and the staff really bring the place down. Perfect beach and the room was really good but the bar/ restaurant was in desperate need of some new paint and a carpenter. The staff simply existed and were really of little help in recommending places... More

First the bed was the absolutely worst bed I have ever, and I mean ever encountered in any of my travels. The first night they had issues with the cisterns so we had no water for bathing, Move the next day to another unit. Which was a good thing because overnight, the room was invaded by these little centipede looking... More

I stayed at the Chenay Bay beach resort for 6 days in May 2014. I had did my research an was hoping it wasnt as bad as described. I stayed in a bungalow number 9, it was mildly renovated but the king bed was horrible. We were basically sleeping on coils. the resort itself is pretty much dead which is... More

Something has definitely changed here at this perfectly located resort and not for the better! Such high potential seems to be going down the tubes. The staff are friendly and helpful but advertised services are lacking. The pool was dirty everyday I was there, feral cats who are starving will pester you incessantly, beach was below average with the loungers... More

Stayed here for a week with my friend May 3 thru May 10th. We had a great, newly done bungalow with a kitchen, iron board, etc. The room was very clean and had a queen and king bed, so with one bed, i can imagine it would appear to have more room. it was just what we were looking for.... More

Though the cottages are small, they are very comfortable. It is so peaceful! Unfortunately when we were there the restaurant was closed, but we went in October when it was out of season. This was definitely the time to go, though, because it wasn't crowded. The pool was quite dirty with debris, but again, it wasn't in season and I... More
