We stayed at The Caravelle under poor circumstances, so maybe my opinion is a bit skewed - but we were not impressed with this hotel. We had spent the week at The Carambola Beach Resort (which we highly recommend). Our flight home got cancelled, so the airline put us up in the Caravelle for the night. Our room was not... more

I just returned from two nights at Hotel Caravelle where I stayed in connection with a business meeting in Christiansted. My room was relatively large, with a sofa, desk, and extra chair and a view of the boardwalk and harbor. There was satellite TV with a handful of channels including some very popular ones and high-speed Internet access included in... more

When I arrived in Christianstead and at the Caravelle, I fell in love with it. As stated, it is not a resort and certainly not the Ritz, but an incredible island hotel. The view from the pier and boardwalk are spectacular. Its as beautiful at night as during the day. There are some great places to eat and stores to... more

This hotel has the best staff I have encountered in the caribbean. Although we had to walk up the stairs (no elevator) the room and view were great. The housekeeper was so nice and the lady at the front dest was more than helpful. Location was perfect, we went diving and to buck island right from the front of the... more

I love luxary hotels and have discrimminating taste in where I stay. It depends on what you are looking for on each trip. For me, when I visit St. Croix, I'm travelling solo for buisness, and trying to squeeze in some fun time. That is why I prefer Hotel Caravelle - it has the BEST location in St. Croix, at... more

Excellent place to stay, central to everything with very friendly staff. Not a "resort" destination by any means, but for flexibility and comfortable though not opulent accommodations, it THE place for people drawn to the sea, and the old and partially rebuilt town of Christiansted where there are many ruins of a former sugar cane economy that beg for restoration... more

We were on a budget and as other hotels in St Croix were ridiculoursly expensive, we decided to try hotel Caravelle. This stay ruined our entire Virgin island trip. Thank goodness we booked only one night. The hotel is dingy, ugly and in need of major repairs. The hallways were dirty. The door to the rooms were keyed and looked... more

We returned from the Caravelle in June. We've been at the Caravelle 3 times in 2007. We've been staying there every year since 1985. Our service is always great. The Caravelle staff are the best. The Caravelle is not the Carambola. It is what it is, a budget hotel. A pleasant good evening and a thank you goes very far.... more

After months of research, my best fried & I decided to stay at Hotel Caravelle while in St. Croix. Check in took forever! On the night we noticed that there was water dripping from the ceiling. When we called the front desk, we were told that maintenance wouldn't be back until the morning. With no other alternative, we put a... more

Terrible experience. Tough to go up to third floor with 40 lbs of luggage. Room dirty. No sprinkler system and only exit is outside stairway. All rooms have ashtrays. Loud and noisy. Could not get room temp below 80 degrees during the day. Mold apprears to be present in air vents. Would not return. Good price but like a Motel... more
