This is a beautiful (throwback from year's past) resort that has a lot going for it. St. Croix is not a very pretty island, but the setting of the Buccaneer was wonderful. The resort is spread out and very hilly. We stayed in the furthest room from the Main House in the Doubloons. Our view from the second floor was... more

We stayed at the Buccaneer for a week. The Doubloons room (352) was fabulous -expensive, but fabulous. The turn-down service was spotty. They didn’t show up once, and we only had the “bedside mats” one night. Went with the "relax and rejuvenate" package – very nice. Quick and Dirty on the food: Dinners (2) at: Terrace – nice view, food... more

My wife and I stayed at the Buccaneer in late April of 08. We truly enjoyed our time there. We reserved their simplest room, a Great house Mountain View, and received an upgrade to a Great house Ocean View. We were in rooms that were likely part of the original resort. While they were not quite 5 stars, they were... more

We go to St.Croix every April vacation. We've been there for the past 7 Aprils. The Buccaneer is a great spot for a family vacation. The kids camp is wonderful as they have many activites with the children from nature walks, to swimming to snorkling, to arts & crafts. Great way to keep your kids occupied so you can relax... more

My son and I stayed at this resort during spring break. My son had a brillant time. I would not recommend this hotel if you are single travelling with a child. I find that this hotel attracks older couple. Absolutely nothing to do at night. I was bit disappointed and a bit bored. Can't be compared to the Turks. With... more

We just got back from a week stay at the Buccaneer and overall we really had a great time. We travelled with our two children 14 and 17. I would say the right word for the Buccaneer is "charming". It may not be for everyone because it is a small, quaint, quiet resort. There is no island music or outdoor... more

My husband and I were planning a trip to enjoy a long-overdue vacation, and to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. After researching hotels on St. Croix, I chose The Buccaneer from the many great reviews here on Trip Advisor, and wasn't disappointed! Be prepared on your ride from the airport to see a pretty run-down and somewhat delapidated city with... more

St. Croix is okay. I've been here twice and it's not my favorite island. It is boring and really nothing to do. The beach in Turks is much much better. This hotel is great. They have good food but not amazing meals. This hotel is good for families because they have lots of activities - tennis, beach, and the spa.... more

So I was in St Croix on business visiting some Hedgefunds. Have stayed at the Buccaneer twice now. First time I stayed up in the rooms up top...(There are two levels, up top and then beach front) Second I was beachfront. Both rooms were very clean...beachfront was great! Snorkeling is wonderful-lots of fan coral, saw a ton of Parrotfish, and... more

We just returned from a week at the Buccaneer, our trip was during the spring break time period, we traveled with two teenage boys. The Buccaneer was very pleasant from the moment we arrived until we left the property. The resort did not feel crowded even during this normally busy time of year. It has a very open feel and... more
