We had a wonderful stay at the Hibuscus - the Restaurant is very, very, very good. The rooms have seen better days, but we would definetely return any day. Of course it's not a five-star resort or plush all-inclusive, but if you are looking for a squeaky clean, ocean-front, laid-back, private, "escape from it all" at a great price - this is it. My fiance and I were disgusted by the condition of our bathroom. Apparently there were multiple leaks on the shower floor that caused a flood whenever it was used. Maintainence guy tried fixing it without success. To add insult to injury, they played live music until 2am on saturday. Thats great if you want to party. Bad if you want... more

I love this hotel. It fits all of my requirements: not too fancy or stuffy, small, "homelike" feel, on the beach, not an all-inclusive, dining on site.
