We loved the resort and visited others on our stay to compare and were very pleased we were at the Sands. The turn down service and refreshed room in the evening was excellant. Hemmingways was agreat place to eat and very popular. The island lacks night life and dining is about it. So it was nice to be at a... More

We just returned from one week at the Sands. We had read a number of less than favorable review of this resort and were sceptical. We LOVED the Sands. It's laid back, professionally managed with excellent, friendly staff especially Carris (concierge) and the restaurant staff (although the restaurant is busy and therefore a bit slow - island time). We were... More

Recently spent a beautiful relaxing "girl's vacation" week with my 13yr. old daughter at the Sands. Room- our room was building 5, third floor. Freshly painted and newer furnishings. King bed and pull out couch. My favorite part was the screened in porch. I sat there every evening. Fairly clean, but did need a good "spring cleaning" around the baseboards.... More

If what you want is a gorgeous beach....You can't beat The Sands at Grace Bay. I brought my 80 year old parents and they were in the water everyday and out walking...no stones or shells or even seaweed!!! Lots of umbrellas for those who are watching their skin...sugar-like sand... and free use of snokels, hobie cats, kayaks and bikes! Our... More

My wife and I just got back from the sands resort where we stayed for 3 nights/ 4 days. The beach at Grace bay is beautiful with white very soft sand and turquiose like crystal clear blue waters. In the morning, the water was a bit rough but in the afternoon it was so smooth and calming. The front desk... More

We booked this trip on Delta, finding the best pricing after much research. The Sands has beautiful grounds, accomodating staff and Hemmingways was excellent morning, noon and night. In fact the food and service were so good at Hemmingways, we went there for all meals with the exception of two in the seven days we were there! The room we... More

Just got back from the Sands. One of the best beaches anywhere. However, anytime I think of the Sands I will always remember how bad the service was. Surly front desk personnel seemed unwilling to help with even the simplest tasks. At times it was unbelievable to watch them roll their eyes. They put us in a room unlike what... More

I just returned with my sons ages 18 and 21. Sands is well managed, property is well cared for and location is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Two bedroom suite was spacious with an exceptionally large screened balcony. Suites are ready to be repainted, though. Resort is owned by same owner as the new Somerset on Grace Bay.... More

My husband and I booked the Sands for my birthday and planned to stay 10 nights. We ended up leaving five days early (which we have never done before on any trip) due to several reasons. The staff was (for the most part) very cold and unfriendly. This was especially true at Hemingway's where you practically had to fight to... More

We took our two teens on XMAS week. I was hoping there would be more families with teens, but most were toddlers to 8. Many people seemed to be part of large extended families staying at the Sands. There were not a lot of people our age as well mostly 25-35 or 60+. We had a leak coming from our... More
