We stayed at the Sands for our 33rd wedding anniversary. Despite many glowing reports on this resort hotel, I cannot recommend it. It is very expensive, and I expected a deluxe hotel; it appears to have been a top hotel in the past. Maintenance is poor for a first class hotel: The white office door behind check in is flithy,... Thank you for the comments. We recently addressed the issue by painting the doors. We are also in the process of replacing all the maids closets and anticipate the completion date to be the end of March. The only elevator is in building 3 and is regularly maintained. Hemmingways serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Breakfast is served from 8am -... More

The Sands at Gracebay is a wonderful place to stay to relax in Turks! Booked a package through one of the largest travel web-sites and good a very good price, upgraded to a nicer room for $50 per night upon arriving. Greated with rum punch, smooth check-in garden view room with king bed, toaster, micro, fridge, washer dryer! new IGA... More

We were recently married in Turks and Caicos and selected Sands at Grace Bay for all of our guests to stay. In the planning process, we were looking for nice accomodations which were not outrageous in price. We could not of made a better choice for all 30 of our guests. The property is very well maintained, the staff is... More

I'm currently at The Sands with my wife and children. The resort is like a small secluded secret. The thing you notice most is that its quiet, elegant, and well maintained. Its a setting that enables you to lounge on your porch, by the pool, on the beach, for hours just to enjoy the perfect breezes. Most of the guests... More

We had great time with our 2 grown children............great location and beautiful beach. We rented a van and went grocery shopping at the wonderful IGA Supermarket..The resort has a shuttle however so we really didn't use the van much.Very quiet place and friendly staff.

The Sands was the ultimate relaxation! Upon arriving we were immediately upgraded from a Studio Courtyard to a 1 bedroom Ocean View. The unit was great, spacious and well decorated. The bathrooms were not the largest, but people need to realize they have major water issues on this island, and not only are you not spending a lot of time... More

This is a very difficult review. The Sands is in a good location, with a very friendly staff, a good restaurant (Hemingways), and the rooms have everything you need (including a kitchenette and washer/dryer). However, the rooms are worn down and need work. The bathroom in our studio unit is disappointing. The bed is hard and sheets are rough. The... More

Thanks for the review. We underwent renovation in 2008 and replaced a lot of the soft goods. Our interior designer purposely antiqued the furniture to give it an old Caribbean feel. We have replaced 90% of the beds and the remaining 10% will be complete by the time you read this review. More

I booked air and hotel accommodations for two through American Airlines. The travel to Miami was almost uneventful. Although the flight from MIA to PLS was delayed, WE made it a few hours late. The luggage, however, was another story. American Airlines gives you a luggage option when traveling to PLS: carry-on or lost. That seems to be a recurrent... More

Wanted to getaway for a long weekend by myself and decided Grace Bay was the best place to go. I found The Sands website and it looked great so I thought I'd try it out. Got there late at night and they were expecting me. I booked the studio (cheapest) room and they upgraded me to the oceanview (priciest) without... More

I went to T&C with my boyfriend for almost 2 weeks in December. The Sands is in my opinion very centrally located, close to the IGA and right on Grace Bay (the prettiest beach I have ever been on). The courtyard is gorgeous and the pools (while freezing, come on get some solar heating) were spacious and well taken care... More
