Wonderful B and B on beautiful beach in Northern Trinidad. Room was lovely with beer and soft drinks chilled in fridge. Perfect size for family of 4 with hammocks outside on the deck. 3 hour journey from airport is lovely - through some fascinating towns, coastal scenery and rainforest. Staff - Cherry Ann and Jason were lovely - so helpful... more

This is a great Lodge type hotel overlooking the beach in a secluded spot, yet not too far from the town. The drive from Port of Spain to Grande Riviere was fantastic - through rainforest and beautiful vegetation. The staff here were very friendly, the food was good, but the best bit was the convenience of being on the beach... more

This hotel is nice if you want to see the turtles. The service is pretty good but they fall short on a few things, i.e., continental breakfast included but told that coffee would not be ready for a long while; dinner - brought food incorrectly cooked. But, all in all, if you want to see turtles, this is a good... more

Le Grande Almandier is a pretty basic B & B - small rooms, tiny bathrooms, lots of mosquitoes & a deck you can take turns standing on - at a very inflated price, which they can get because the hotel sits on the beach in the remote north coast village of Grande Riviere where leatherback turtles come to lay their... more

Most travelers make their way to Grande Riviere to see the leatherback turtles. Don't get me wrong, they are an amazing sight to see. But, even without that experience, we would have had just as nice of a time at Le Grande Almandier. The staff was really helpful in terms of figuring out transportation, etc., but were also very respectful... more

If you are interested in eco-tourism, being outside and checking out the turtles then this is definitely the place. I could sit on the porch of my room and see turtles laying 50ft away on the beach in the early morning hours. The rooms are small, but very adequate, clean and comfortable. The service is pretty good and I ate... more

After 5 days at Asa Wright, Cyril, the owner of this resort picked us up and drove us to the resort. We were impressed from our arrival. We were introduced to the staff, who knew our names the rest of the stay. The rooms were clean, and well appointed for the location. The hotel is on the beach, and has... more

Although the primary reason for staying was to see the leatherback turtles laying their eggs our visit alllowed us to canoe along the coastline , explore some sea caves and just relax on a beautiful beach with lots of flora & fauna close by for those who are more adventurous . The location is fantastic but I would advise those... more

Le Grande Almandier offers the great combination of a relaxed atmosphere, tasty local cuisine, and the ever changing horizon where the river meets the sea- all with a backdrop of rainforest. The hotel is cleanly kept by friendly family staff that is flexible to accommodate your requests. Jason's reputation as an exemplary cook is well founded- to visit solely to... more
