If you are a person who is in Trinidad for shopping or for business, then I would recommend Simple Escapes, which is located in Baden Powell Street, Woodbrooke. This cozy 12-room hostel is ideal for persons who are on the go. I stayed 3 weeks there and I have never regretted it. The manager/owner (Ms Dacosta) is very friendly and helpful. There is a supermarket within walking distance (a 5-minute or less walk), and you are within easy access to Port of Spain and St James. You can get to both places with a 5-minute taxi ride. It is also within walking distance to restaurants and entertainment.... (within walking distance of the famous Mas Camp Pub!!)

And the rate is unbelievable (US$ 45 a night)!! However, meals are not provided. Each room comes equipped with a private shower, mini-fridge, A/C, microwave and cable TV, which works quite well.
