I stayed here for 12 days in March to watch the cricket and look at the island. After booking I found various reviews not many of them were at all complimentary so it was with some apprehension that I checked in. I needn't have worried. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. Service was very good. My broken telephone... more

I was concerned when I read some of the existing reviews of this property, but I'd stayed there in 2001 so thought I'd take a chance. My room was spotlessly clean, fresh comfortable linens, new furniture and super fast, wireless internet included in the room cost. The included continental breakfast was not particularly appealing (bread for toast, a few croissants... more

My family checked into the Normandie for one night and it had to be the worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. We had to change rooms more than twice, looked at more than 5 and were still disgusted by the apperance of all of them. There were terminites on my bed, which the hotel claimed was wood... more

Thoroughly enjoyed the Carnival, the wonderful people of Trinidad and the delicious Trinidad food (outside the hotel). The front desk personnel made an effort to be courteous and helpful throughout our stay, the pool was modern and attractive, but the room was atrocious...we upgraded to a Loft which had rust around the entire rim of the bath tub. The A/C... more

Recently was in Trinidad for carnival 2007. Whilst the carnival was great my stay at the Normandie was awful. The quality of service was well below average. First of the hotel staff had an attitude whilst carrying out there duties and rarely smiled. A couple of times I ordered room service I was told in a very curt manner that... more

We arrived in the evening for one night. The grounds were well kept and the pool is a nice touch if you will be there for awhile. The rooms not bad...but we had to upgrade because the bed was rediculous for two. Quiet location. O.K. breakfast included. Decent restaurant down the block. Stay at the Marriott...more money...but worth it! more

Not suitable for elderly or disabled - Hotel front desk - typically four people trying to look busy whilst not hleping at ll - Problems checking in, problems checking out. Moved rooms - if you want wireless connection you need room 228 - or to stand with... more

My wife & I spent 6 days at Normandie over Thanksgiving. On the good side; the loft room we finally ended up in was acceptable, a few of the staff were pleasant and helpful, the breakfast restaurant was good. On the negative side; - I had booked via email to the hotel and called to provide a credit card confirmation;... more

I stayed in a loft room at the Normandie and was pleasantly surprised. The location is great and the room was in pretty good condition. Although this hotel is in a prime location, it still provides you with enough privacy and peace. Being a Trinidadian myself, I don't have high expectations for customer service (sorry, but it's true), so it... more

This hotel is in a great location, near the action but still away from it so it is peaceful. The room we stayed in was nicely designed and most of all, clean. One thing that wasn't good was the breakfast: soggy and greasy...oh and cold. But what do you expect for a buffet breakfast that sits out there for 3... more
