Trying to find a hotel in Trinidad was difficult, then I saw the reviews on here. What a find! Acajou is a true caribbean experience that should not be missed. Sadly my husband and I only spent three days and two nights but it was the absolute best. We stayed in cottage three and it was just beautiful, it was clean and cozy with wooden furniture. I suggest walking with insect spray, the mosquitoes don't give up and probably a small cd player to listen to music. Food was ok... more

Acajou is a wonderful getaway from the everyday hussle..You are greeted by a friendly staff and the resort itself is charming and very cozy.. We didn't realize how remote this place is! A 2.5 hour drive from the airport will land you in the tiny town of Grande Riviere. The town has a couple of resorts with restaurants, a great beach, and not much else. I liked the individual cabins. Ceiling and floor fans kept us cool at night and the bugs mostly away.... more
