We spent 3 nights at asa Wright. we went for the birds and that was what we got, lots of fabulous birds. The staff are all knowledgeable and the view from the veranda overlooking the forest is fabulous with always the chance of seeing something unusual. Most of the time one of the guides was about and suddenly you can... More

The complex is made up of a main building and bedrooms scattered in the tropical forest and is the place to stay for bird lovers. The large verandah overlooks the lower tropical forest and through binoculars we viewed parrots, bell birds, hawks, toucans, trogons, and dozens of other species. During the day there are staff available to assist in identification with... More

We stayed 9-12 Jan as part of a 3-week tour around T&T, and simply wanted a place in the Northern Range. So we felt rather humble with our pocket camera and binos beside enthusiasts with lenses as long as your arm. That said, it was great fun, and even amateurs can enjoy the view of the numerous birds using the... More

What can you say but this is paradise, the bird watching is really easy from the terrace and if your stuck on a particular species there's always someone there to help you out. The accommodation is slightly dated but given it's fantastic position isn't a problem. The food everything is grown on the reserves plantation even the tea and coffee.... More

This property is located in the middle of the rain forest. It is the most fabulous place for photography and getting as close to Humming birds and other birds as one can possibly get. All meals are buffet style and the egg station at breakfast is super. The rooms are clean but basic, but most of your time would be... More

The view from the verandah is spectacular--all manner of hummingbirds and other feeder friendly birds. We also saw agouti and wonderful lizards. The trails are decently maintained although they are extremely slick with any rain. The hand railings need to be repaired in some places and added in others. I would strongly recommend a walking stick--they have some bamboo ones... More

We just returned from a ten day stay at the Asa Wright Lodge which we booked through Caligo. Our room in the old Plantation House was satisfactory after the heavy dark curtains were opened to let in some light but we did find that the screens need patching. The room was very convenient to the veranda and the dining room.... More

Asa Wright has long had a reputation as one of the best and easiest rainforest experiences in the new world. The set up is indeed very good although the overall experience left us a little disappointed. This may have been influenced by our previous trips to other lodges (in Costa Rica, Ecuador, Colombia for example) where the wildlife is more... More

We just returned from a lovely visit to Asa Wright following a 12 day trip to Guyana. After the rigors of Guyana, Asa Wright was luxury! We enjoyed so many great views of the birds especially the oilbirds, bearded bellbird, manakins and all the many feeder birds. The trip to see the scarlet ibis was the highlight. Even though it... Three nights were spent at this dedicated nature lodge. There is a varied selection of accommodation and my room was clean and comfortable. Not luxurious but you are here for the wildlife! All food is included and was of a good standard with meat and vegetarian option, though slightly limited in choice. Alcohol is expensive! The real delight is spending... More
