I stayed here to begin a volunteer vacation. It has very simple, spare rooms. Mine didn't have a bathroom and the top wall of the room out to the hallway is open for ventilation. Plus, you get to experience nature right in your room, as I found a bunch of bugs crawling all over some of my cosmetic items. Nontheless,... more

Think Fawlty Towers perched on a mountain next to a monastery in the wooded North Trinidad Hills... But if you like B & Bs with character, like peace & quiet or are into birds and want to see hundreds of them, its an experience not to be missed. Pax was built in 1916 as a Catholic guest house, and although... more

This was a lovely place to stay, especially if you like peace, quiet and stunning bird life. Now it's not an executive-style hotel but that adds to its charm. Everyone eats together buffet-style in the evenings and one of the best features was the eclectic mix of guests; western tourists, local honeymooners, business travellers and guests of the nearby university. more

My friend and I stayed at Pax Guesthouse for five nights while we visited Trinidad. We arrived late in the evening, just off the ferry from Tobago, tired, confused, and unsure if the taxi had brought us to the right place. We stumbled through the door to be greeted by a cold glass of fruit juice and the very amiable... more

I wasn't prepared for shared bathrooms down the hall, which when you're older could be an issue, and it bothered me that you had absolutely no privacy. The tops of the walls in the rooms were completely open so you could hear your neighbor snoring quite clearly. The service was wonderful; however, and the view was phenomonal. We were there... more

Stayed here for three nights. Absolutely loved the view and grounds. The owners have tried really hard to make this a refuge for rest and relaxation. The inn literally sits on the mountain and the birds and scenery views are amazing. My room included breakfast and dinner and the meals were superb. The dining room is one of elegance and... more

I chose this place for a safe and convenient overnight while traveling. I was not disappointed. They arranged a taxi from the airport and back. The room was clean and the very reasonable rate included a before dinner rum punch and a lovely dinner as well as breakfast tray since I left at 6 a.m. before breakfast. I enjoyed an... more

We spent two interesting nights at Pax. The house is located on a monastery property on a mountain, the views and scenery are incredible. The hosts, Oda and Gerard are the nicest people, and work very hard to keep their guests happy. If you are lucky, Gerard may give you a tour of the house and upper grounds. You cannot... more

The Pax Guesthouse is very well situated on the top of a hill at the very end of St. John's Road, a turning half a mile east of the University of the West Indies on the Eastern Main Road. Look out for a Scotia Bank on the corner of the junction with a prominent red sign. If you travel by... more
