Hello, I'm sabrina. I stayed at Richmond vale academy back in 1982 or 1983. I am 42 years old now. I attended the international school ake'pecha that was in Matthews VA. We stayed at the academy for 3months. While there my group and staff climbed to the too of the volcano. We traveled that way as an experience and to... More

I visit every year. This school, which offers dorm rooms to hikers and other visitors, is at the end of the Leeward highway. The highway used to go further, and there was apparently four villages north of Richmond Vale Academy, but that was before the last eruption of the volcano. There are also the ruins of a sugar plantation north... More

If you wish to get a hiking experience, then this is the place for you. Please don't expect nothing elaborate and elegant because it's a hiking centre and a non-profit organization. The hosts were really helpful and gracious. The rooms are simple. If you want to visit the volcano this is GREAT access point cause trust me, when you finish... More

I had a slow start trying to understand everything there is to do there. After a day or two warming up the the other visitors, I had a great time. Enjoyed a yoga session with a yogi also visiting. Heard a lecture on environmental concerns and what Richmond Vale is doing as a means to lessen the effects of global... More

We wanted to discover the North of St Vincent and do some hiking and this was the place to be. Set in lush gardens, with an organic vegetable plot, fruit trees, horses grazing, it is like paradise. Set in a most beautiful location, on one side the volcano and tropical forest and on the other a splendid view of the... More

I went to Richmond Vale Academy for four nights this year. The dinner was wonderful one night, and the food terrible the rest of the time. The students told me it's a question of their food budget. It's a big issue for them this year. Others years I've been there it didn't seem that important. The rent is cheap $20... More

The Richmond Vale Nature and Hiking Centre is a wonderful place to stay in St. Vincent. The rooms have 1, 2 or 4 beds. The price includes breakfast. They sell this amazing Passion Fruit juice that they make. Its the most delicious thing ever! Don't pass it up!!

Basically a school, the centre provides good value accomodation(25US$p.p.+15US$for three meals-Nov2012). Beautiful location close to various walks and a long, volcanic beach. Varied and tasty food, welcoming staff and the possibility to get an insight of the ongoing projects. Liked it very much!

If you want to climb St. Vincent's La Soufriere volcano from the more difficult leeward ascent (starting point is the beach at he foot of the volcano) then stay at Richmond Vale. The dorm like accommodations are basic and the bathrooms are shared but you will have everything you need: a comfortable bed, 3 meals a day, running water. The... More
