It was such a quiet place with colorful garden and animals. The accommodation is simple (just a bed and a fan) but all is clean. Five minutes walking to the beach (black sand) and a really good location to start the volcano hiking with Franklin! , for diving with Aitor!, for the Dark View Falls etc..Good food and welcoming people! We... More

Thank you Stina and Jesper for another amazing weekend visit, the views take your breath away! So peaceful watching the horses graze and roam about the property. Good wholesome foods at very reasonable prices. They even offer diving now ! The hikes are tough but worthwhile, going up to the volcano is beautiful. Clean rooms with shared bathrooms and fan,... We spend several days in Richmond academy and our main aim was to hike volcano. It is a perfect starting point to do that trip with lifelong experienced guide. Franklin already hikes 300 times this route and knows it perfect! He knows nature around and explains and answers all possible questions! It was unforgettable experience to hike down to the... More

I stayed here for three weeks in March and April 2015 while I was doing an anthropological research project. This place isn't easy to get to, because it's about 2 miles from the last bus stop, but it's well worth the walk. This place is quiet, friendly, and quirky. The town of Richmond literally consists of this place, one bar... More

We really loved our time at Richmond Vale. The accommodations are basic and you share bathrooms but that did not deter from the experience. Meals are simple, but well prepared and tasty. You can find a number of hikes and walks. A highlight was the hike to the volcano with Franklin. DO THIS! As well the beach is about a... More

Great place to get away from it all, with clean, basic amenities. Many opportunities for hiking, short walk to the beach and nearby dark view falls. Beautifully maintained property with gardens and produce trees.

Lola was very nice and was a great hostess. She set up a trip for me to Baleine falls (which was beautiful) and she also gave me an hour massage for $40 (great hands!). The room was spacious and clean. Although I wasn't a complete fan of the food they cooked on site, everything was amazing. Would stay again!

My wife and I moved to the Island late Dec and this was our first 'weekend away', Valentine's weekend to boot and we wanted to do something special. We picked Richmond Vale Academy as we decided to hike La Soufriere, we could not have picked better and what an amazing Valentines we had! If you are the adventurous type who... More

I stayed at Richmond Vale for a month long break and every time I see a picture of the place I can't wait to return. The waterfalls - beautiful, the skyline - breathtaking, the people - loving. I would recommend this place to anyone thinking of adventure and relaxation. Number one on my list.

This place is by Chateaubelair at the extreme northwest where the roads end and the volcano wild lands begin. The boat ride to Balleine passes rugged green cliffs right out of a dream -- there was even a spot shower and a rainbow appeared framing Sourfriere volcano. Beach walking at Richmond was great on the black sands, with the occasional... More
