I just completed another stay at Richmond Vale Hiking and Nature Center, this time with my family along for the ride. As this was my fourth visit there, I'm clearly impressed with the place. However, in the spirit of fairness, I will share the pros and cons of staying at Richmond Vale: Pros: 1) LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION-The end of the... More

I just returned to Bequia after a 2-night stay at the Richmond Vale Academy/Hiking Centre. I'd been intrigued by what I'd heard, and excited about finally making the journey. It was a wonderful experience and I want to go back, and bring friends! Not wishing to spend EC$150 each way for a taxi, I found I could take a bus... More

We found this pocket of paradise recently on an island hopping trip in the Carribean. On each island we visited, we wanted to see and experience more than the beaches and tourist stops and this place fit that bill perfectly! It is on the Northern end of the island and difficult to get to, but doable. Don't plan to travel... More

My friend and I stayed here and it was perfect for us! The rooms are very basic but exactly what you need. The property is well kept and the food is amazing! Make sure you opt in for meals, it is definetly worth it and the place is a bit out of the way so this just makes it easier.... More

We stayed at the academy for 3months. While there my group and staff climbed to the too of the volcano. We traveled that way as an experience and to... More

I visit every year. This school, which offers dorm rooms to hikers and other visitors, is at the end of the Leeward highway. The highway used to go further, and there was apparently four villages north of Richmond Vale Academy, but that was before the last eruption of the volcano. There are also the ruins of a sugar plantation north... More

If you wish to get a hiking experience, then this is the place for you. Please don't expect nothing elaborate and elegant because it's a hiking centre and a non-profit organization. The hosts were really helpful and gracious. The rooms are simple. If you want to visit the volcano this is GREAT access point cause trust me, when you finish... More
