The Gwesty Ty Newydd is truly a remarkable establishment. After some initial disappointment that there was no residents lounge or comfortable seating area overlooking the sea, the Gwesty Ty Newydd worked its magic on us increasingly during our 6 night stay. The hotel is 'high spec', with nice little touches like bathroom underfloor heating and heated mirror; clean, warm, and... More

We visited twice, sat on the veranda looking out to sea; beautiful. First time had a drink and second time sandwich, both times lovely. Would definitely come back. Dog friendly, water bowls etc. young staff but very friendly.

Had lunch here only, the sun terrace is just that, if the suns out you'll be feeling the benefit of it as the railings are glass panelled which stops any wind getting through. It was mid Sept when we were there and it was a scorcher, like being on the beach in the Med. Would recommend it as the ideal... More

We stayed overnight at this hotel and it was so nice, The beautiful room overlooking the sea was very comfortable, the breakfast perfect and the staff really friendly. Certainly stay here again. First visit to Aberdaron but not the last. Charming little place - be sure to visit the thatched bakery on the hill for bread, cakes and fabulous pasties.

Spent a night at the Ty Newydd last weekend, wished it had been more. Rooms are very clean and comfortable and all named after a nearby cove or bay. We booked evening meal in the restaurant and it was plentiful. Breakfast was serve yourself juices, toast, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit. Tea, coffee and cooked has fresh to order. The... More

We walked up Mynedd Mawr, an excellent view point across the Irish Sea and as it was a fairly clear day, we saw the Wicklow Mountains, Ireland on the horizon. TIp: For those who cannot do the walk, you can drive to the top where there is a car park for around 20 cars - well worth it! Then down... More

We lucked out with the weather - 4 perfect warm days, with balmy evenings to sit on the Gwesty Ty Newydd terrace right on the sea with excellent beers. Food so-so at night (overcooked steaks) but good value. Lobster salad was a treat however, and only £15. Wines by the bottle OK and very reasonable, but in the bar only... More

We didn't stay at this hotel but did book in for lunch. Our table was reserved but we had no assistance in how to order and use the provided buffet. It was very busy but when we got to the buffet, just after our sitting time, there was little food left and people who arrived just after us received no... More

We stayed at the hotel over the August bank holiday weekend. This was a mistake on our part, as we usually like quieter times. The hotel and village was full to bursting point from Saturday to Tues morning. We couldn't get in to the NT car park near the hotel, so parked at the top of the hill in the... More
