Stayed here for a few hours before walking down the street and booking at the Comfort Suites. I could not breathe in the room - the air was suffocating of moldy smell and I was freaking out because of the bad vibes this place gave me and found out later that a man was found dead there just a few... was hesitant about booking TI after reading all of the horrible reviews but I really wanted to do this trip on the cheap, knowing everything else in Cayman was pricey. So I pulled the trigger, took a leap of faith and booked through Travelocity, getting $50 off my stay (6 nights). TI definitely an original "resort" in Cayman---in need of... More

After determining that my preferred hotels were fully book my friends and I decided to stay at the Treasure Island Resort. The decision was made partly based on price, but mostly on location and availability. At first sight the hotel didnt look bad. There were beautifully landscaped greenery outside, a huge lobby with comfy chairs, a bar, and a store.... More

Despite the reviews, we chose to stay at Treasure Island "resort" in April 2014 as it was affordable. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt as each person's experience-even with the best-varies. It was our first time in the Cayman Islands, specifically for my friend's bday celebration. This hotel has great potential but obviously has poor management.... More

Well first of all the rooms are real clean and so is the bedding, The staff is eager to please. However, every room has a terrible musty, headache causing odor. They try and mask it with a glade plug in type thing that only manages to mask and not eliminate the odor. I had to unplug the sickeningly overly sweet... More

I'd give 3.5 if it were an option because 4 seems a little high for what TI is, but it is undergoing renovations from what I've heard so 3 seems too low. The rooms are large and dated and smell a bit musty, but get cleaned everyday (even dishes!). We had a parking lot view which was blocked by a... More

Stayed one weekend with my husband since we are planning our wedding in August at Grand Cayman Beach Suites and needed a cheap hotel. Hotel is decent but had poor water pressure and I usually like the water very hot so that could have been better instead of warm bathing temperature. Our room phone was terrible so we used the... Pros: Close to ocean. Three great pools. Nice pool bar. Lowest price. TV stopped and serviceman came within 15 minutes. Con: No bath mat (went to store and bought one.). Mould on shower walls. No instructions in room, TV etc. WiFi only in lobby

All the negative reviews I read about this place were true. Sadly, I read them after I had to run out of there. I'm not one to speak ill of anyone or anything. But this place was so bad, I felt like I was in jail. As soon as we arrived the receptionist lifted her head up, saw us approaching... More

The Treasure Island Resort is by all means a budget hotel. Having said that, the staff was always available and happy to book our Capt. Marvin's Stingray City excursion. The beach (technically part of Sunset Cove Condominiums) was a perfect hangout after a long day of activities. The worst part of Treasure Island was that the wi-fi is only available... More
