Not only did we see the mermaid statue but we saw turtles, sea cucumbers, garden eels, lobsters, a shipwreck & an awesome wall dive. What more could you ask for!!!! Oh and not only is the staff wonderful but there are multiple options for access to the dive site whether you choose to ease down the ladder, go in by... More

Let me start off by saying that I am 66 years old, have been diving for over 30 years and have stayed at many different resorts around the world .I have been to the Caymans several times but this was my first stay at the Sunset House. We had a fantastic diving vacation here last week. The customer service was... More

Low key and easy. Dive staff was friendly and helpful. Dive boats were right there and dive sites were never more thank 15 or 20 minutes away.Front office staff especially Jenn were great. Beers were cold and always ready at MyBar. Room was fine. My son and I had an amazing time.

We stayed here one night prior to a Cayman Aggressor trip and so that we could visit the Cathy Church Photo Studio onsite which has private photography classes, camera shop, and gallery. Since it was brief stay, our room adjacent to the parking lot was nothing to write home about. That said, for a "hotel" stay, an ocean front room... More

After staying at Sunset House last year for a mini get away it was a "no brainer" to go back this year for a full week of vacation and take a group of long time dive buddies. General managers, Keith & Karin and their staff are all nicer than you can even imagine. Everyone, from the front desk staff to... More

We went here one evening to enjoy the sunset and have some dinner! The food was really good and the place has an incredible bar! I had fish and chips and they were fantastic. Had an appointment, but would have loved to stay and hang at the bar...which was really cool!

After an AWESOME experience at Sunset House in October, 2013, it wasn't a difficult decision to return with 30 friends for diving, relaxing, excellent dining ( try the curry dishes !! ) and very warm and professional service ! Sunset House is not a plush-pretentious-pricey venue that can be found elsewhere : their nice, clean rooms and memorable cuisine choices... More

If you are going to GO to dive then there is no other place to go. WHY. They understand divers. Trips are lead by the most the best dive team. They show you the sites and the little things you would miss. Safety is a priority without being overbearing. What makes the resort stand out is the fact is everyone... More

Stayed in an oceanfront room in August, 2014. Relaxing, Bohemian Feel. Scuba in the morning, relax in the pool in the afternoon, Scuba again in the afternoon or evening. Could sit on our porch, watch the ocean, read, have a drink, play dominoes, etc. etc. Food was great. Open air bar was chill. Indoor restaurant was comfortable, plenty of wood... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
I've have found the beginning of why so many people love Sunset House, Grand Cayman's Hotel for Divers, by Divers. "Stepping out of my room, feeling the sunshine on my face, catching that breath of fragrant tropical breeze, gazing into the alluring blue water..". More profound words were never spoken! This family owned resort is more of a big guest house, than a hotel. Everything you have dreamed for a Caribbean Dive Vacation is here! From palm trees to an amazing house reef; from 5 custom dive boats, to a famous underwater photographer; from amazing Caribbean concoctions, to spicy Indian dishes; they all await you! And combined with warm Caymanian hospitality, you'll wonder why you waited so long to visit this West Indian oasis, or why you haven't come back sooner. Of course, the Caymans and Sunset House are a diver's paradise, with crystal-clear waters awaiting your arrival. Come to Sunset House today and experience now, what others have seen for over the last 50 years. An underwater photographer's perfect dive. Shipwrecks, curious big eels, cuddly stingrays and a legendary mermaid await you just steps from your room! ... more   less
