Stayed here for 8 nights with my husband and son. The house is a cluster of individual areas . All the bedrooms are air conditioned but the media room, dining room and kitchen are not so be prepared for heat and humidity in these areas. The outside is gorgeous with a great pool, deck etc. The interior of the house... More

The Mooney Bay Estate House is quite hard to describe. It is not connected by land, so you have to come in by boat, and it feels wonderfully secluded tucked away in a corner of North Sound. But you just take a short dinghy ride of about 200 metres around the headland and you are in Leverick Bay with access... More

We just got back from a week at Mooney Bay and are wishing we were still there! There were 14 in our group with an age range from two years to sixty five. Mooney Bay was the perfect place for us with plenty of activities for everyone and ample time and space to just relax. Vicki, our "concierge" was wonderful.... More

This truly was the BEST vacation ever. Where do we start? Mooney Bay was absolutely beautiful. I don't even think "Beautiful' gives it justice. Every morning we would sit on the pier with a cup of coffee literally soaking in Paradise. Every night we would walk the shore and be amazed at the awesome marine life around us. The property... Now when I say great value I certainly don't mean cheap! But then if you are looking at this kind of service and location you expect a price tag to match. However compared to similar type high end villa's Mooney Bay takes some beating. It is very secluded being only accesable by sea, while at the same time being in... More

We spent 3 glorious days at Mooney Bay. The resort offered luxurious privacy with pool, tennis court, kayaks, sail/motor boats, spa services, and a pristine private beach. Despite the remote location, the villa was very convenient to all the activities that North Sound has to offer. Our trip was made even better by the incredible attention to detail that the... More

I recently had the great fortune to stay at Mooney Bay. I had high expectations for my stay and all were exceeded. The villa is located in the prime setting in the North Sound which is easily argued as the most beautiful part of the BVI. We managed to peel ourselves away from the villa for a dinner at nearby... It's hard to write a review of Mooney Bay without sounding like a travel brochure copy writer, but surely that's a good thing! Only accessible by water, you are guaranteed privacy and seclusion from the moment you arrive at Mooney Bay Estate. Yet situated in the North Sound, one of the world's finest yachting destinations, there's plenty of nearby distractions... More

I live on Tortola and went up to Mooney Bay for a long weekend with a group of friends. Living in the BVI we have been lucky to have some amazing experiences. But the weekend at Mooney Bay was especially extraordinary. The property is absolutely beautiful and location is breathtaking and very private. Monti and Chris, who are in charge... More

I recently got back from a long-weekend away at Mooney Bay with a collection of close friends. We simply wanted a relaxing weekend escape and that is exactly what we got. We couldn't have received a friendlier welcome from Monti - the estate manager, as she presented us with chilled champagne cocktails. After a quick tour of the house, and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mooney Bay Estate is a private 22-acre property located in the prestigious playground of the North Sound, British Virgin Islands. Accessible only by private motor launch, the estate’s 6 bedrooms sprawl across manicured lawns fronting its own white sand beach and tranquil warm waters of the Caribbean. All rooms boast unique furniture from local vendors, with sweeping views from all angles and each with its own outdoor stone patio. Open-air living spaces with bamboo furniture surround the swimming pool with sweeping ocean vistas. Oversized teak loungers and swaying hammocks dot the sandy beach. Hike the trail for glimpses of iguanas, take a kayak alongside the sea rays and turtles, dive off Pelican dock in search of starfish and conch, play a rousing game of tennis, or have a rest in the fully stocked games room. The estate's owner sought to embody the barefoot chic nature of Virgin Gorda, where comfort and luxury mesh with simplicity. ... more   less
