A brilliant getaway hotel with great service. The food was lovely, the service was great and everything was very reasonably priced. The room was large and clean. The bed was very comfy and the tv was good. Never got to use the balcony as it was a wet day, but it looks great and the surrounding gardens look nice. Would... More

I stayed the night for business and was the only guest (I think). John the owner welcomed me and was very helpful. My room was large and overall comfortable although there was no radiator in the bathroom with 2 large windows (to access the balcony). The style was a bit "old fashion" for my taste but its a personal thing.... More

When returning to visit Castlederg recently, we took some family members out to dinner to Ardgort House. We were treated so well and the meal was superb. Thank you making our last night at home before returning to New Zealand, such a great experience.

This hotel was a lucky find. It is a little gem in a fabulous setting overlooking the hills and valleys west of the sperrin mountains. The rooms are comfortable beautifully furnished with a sense of nostalgia. Sitting on the private balcony with a cup of tea overlooking the landscape was an unforgettable treat. John the owner is very welcoming. The... More

We arrived at the Ardgort from England on the Sunday - visiting Ireland as a trip down memory lane for my step-father - the welcome could not have been friendlier. John, the hotel manager, immediately recognised Ron (my step-father) from his last visit three years earlier and put him and my mum in the same room they had stayed in... More

My wife and Son choose to visit the Ardgort House for a meal and I have to say the food was excellent. On arrival John got us a drink and we settled down and had a look at the menu. There was a lot to choose from on the menu and all three of us had starters and we all... More

We were back at John Douglas's Ardgort House and again the hospitality and food was great. He managed to accommodate 12 golfers in comfort and smashing hospitality. The new chef did him proud and the Steaks we all agreed are the best and biggest we have tasted anywhere. The bar is well stocked and the pint of guiness is top... More

John the owner made us feel at home as soon as we arrived. A very cosy down stairs with great views across the local river valley from the breakfast room. Breakfast was great, we even tried a lunch the next day again very good food. Simple but tasty. Very comfy rooms. Great value as well so we'll be back soon.

Nine of us went back to the Ardgort again this week and it was fantastic. The quality of food in particular is special. It was a great base for golfing in Newtonstewart and Omagh both of which are wonderful too for hospitality and golf. The showers could maybe do with improvement but that would be picky evreything else was fabulous... More
