I've been for a meeting with my wife in this hotel. The location is incredible: an old medieval convent dominating the hills around where Moscato, Barbera and Barolo vines are grown. There's a so called spa consisting of a very small pool with ridiculous whirlpool, a steam bath (nice, I must admit) and 2 very salty pools where you float... More

Relais San Maurizio is located in the vineyards of Piemont, near the Barolo area. The hotel offers all expected amenities, additionally surprises by excellent service and calm atmosphere. As the hotel is remote from major attractions, the hotel infrastructure itself, the spa and the surrounding vineyards are the main options. It is worth mentioning that the hotel offers E-bikes to... We decided to spend one night at Relais San Maurizio so that we could enjoy dinner at Guido and not have to worry about having to drive home after dinner. The property, a converted monestary is beautiful as are the views. However our sleeping room and private patio were only average. In fact, my husband and I both agree that... More

A two nights stay to enjoy the white truffle fair in Alba close by. Despite regular single room a bit small in my opinion, everything was close to perfection: welcome, staff, cleanliness, bar, wine list, cigar room, panorama and a fantastic spa

Like some of the recent reviewers, we were fortunate to spend 2 nights here while visiting the Piedmonte region. We found this place on the Relais & Chateau web site, and must say that everything about is perfect. The setting is breath taking, being located on a hill overlooking the vineyards of Piedmonte. Our room, number 118, had the same... More

My husband and I were fortunate enough to stay here for 1 night during our week long bike trip in Piedmont. It was the best night of the week! Everything was perfect; the room, the pool, the views. Dinner in the wine cellar restaurant was magical. I hope to get back here soon!

This was my third time in this hotel. The service from the moment you drive up the gravel drive atop an enormous mountain, to meet a concierge, who will take you bags, and even park your car. A warm welcome, and then you are shown to your room. An old monastery with spacious rooms, too many drawing/sitting rooms to mention,... More

We stayed with our son for 5 nights earlier this month. Pricey but worth it! Amazing views of the surrounding wine country. Service from most of the reception and serving staff very warm and efficient. Very comfortable duplex suite, which was just right in terms of size, comfort and convenience, especially with the large, well-equipped bathroom located upstairs next to... More

Relais San Maurizo describes themselves as a "unique and unforgettable place" and "truly enchanting". After staying here for 5 nights, I would have to agree completely. Part of the Relais & Chateau chain of hotels, San Maurizio is in fact a former monastery. Sounds interesting, but we were afraid it might feel quite cold. To the contrary, it was warm,... More

Relais San Maurizio has it all. The place is on top of one of the most beautiful hills after an hour and half drive from Milan, in the middle of acres of vineyards in the region of Piedmont. The decor is rustic chic with attention to every detail. As it was on old monastery the place is extremely peaceful and... More
