This is a truly exceptional property. It is located in a former hilltop monastery and everything is spectacular - the spa, the restaurant, the rooms, the service, the grounds and the location. I share the view of other reviewers that such tip top hospitality comes at a steep price, but if you are bent on a splurge, this is the... More

As a weeding gift we spend weekend at Relais San Maurizio. This is one of the best gifts ever! We thank our good friend Piero for this magical experiencie. The atmoshpere is relaxing and elegant. The property is in a hillside surrounded by vineyards, inside is cozy and it has a great indoor pool with turquish bath and spa. Dinner... More

The hotel grounds are beautiful and it is a very charming piece of property. We stayed in a junior suite (105) as my daughter was travelling with us and she had a comfortable little room, off our main room which had a sofa bed in it - The bathrooms are very small though and it was very hard to maneuver... Great location, beautiful grounds and views. Had a very relaxing time here. The room was lovely. Shower was a little small though. The breakfast was good. I would come back here just to relax! Convenient to have a great restaurant (Guido) on its premises and we had dinner there 2 nights.

We live in the area and sadly have taken far too long to visit San Maurizio...what a mistake! The hotel is stunning, we went for Aperitivos on my birthday and had the best Gin and Tonics ever, mine had rosebuds and my husbands peppercorns thyme and spice to accentuate the flavours of the different gins of which they have an... The hotel is situated at the top of a mountain, surrounded by gorgeous vineyards. We were there in early November and the mountains were shrouded with clouds. One of the most beautiful locations ever. The hotel itself is nice, rustic and somewhat dated and could use a makeover. The rooms are small but charming. The restaurant Guido is fantastic. It... We stayed for a week at this lovely and very special place. The property, gardens and views are stunning. Service is fantastic and the staff are very accommodating. Breakfast is generous and wonderful, especially if weather permits outdoor dining; and the adjoining restaurant (Guido da Costigliole) has an amazing wine list and impeccable service, Michelin star well-deserved. We were slightly... More

This is an exceptional place. It was our first night of our trip and we had not planned to eat at the restaurant, thinking it would be too much for us in our somewhat jet-lagged state, but the bistro was closed so we had no choice. Without our even knowing it might be an option, they asked how much we... More

This hotel is perfectly located if you want to explore the wineries (Barolo, Barbaresco and Alba are really close). The scenery is just lovely, the views are amazing and the hotel and its gardens are beautiful. Plus the bar is really nice for an aperitivo, with live music and a little buffet. The guido restaurant in the hotel is really... More

The hotel is a converted monastery in a lovely location in Santo Stefano Belbo, on the top of the hill, about half an hour to Barolo. The grounds and views are simply stunning! The Food & Beverage operation is the highlight of the resort. The one star Michelin restaurant on the premises, Guido, is a treat (note: it is not... More
