This hotel is perfectly located if you want to explore the wineries (Barolo, Barbaresco and Alba are really close). The scenery is just lovely, the views are amazing and the hotel and its gardens are beautiful. Plus the bar is really nice for an aperitivo, with live music and a little buffet. The guido restaurant in the hotel is really... More

The hotel is a converted monastery in a lovely location in Santo Stefano Belbo, on the top of the hill, about half an hour to Barolo. The grounds and views are simply stunning! The Food & Beverage operation is the highlight of the resort. The one star Michelin restaurant on the premises, Guido, is a treat (note: it is not... More

Unfortunately, we only stayed at this great place for two nights. Next time we will add a few extra nights. This hotel was excellent from the first to the last minute we stayed there. We had one of the new suites. Absolutely ***** and very impressive how the owners built this new part of the hotel. In general, this place... More

My husband and I are pretty well travelled, and are used to staying in nice hotels and resorts from North America, Caribbean, Far East, and Europe, the point being that we are accustomed to a certain level of service. From the first minute of the check-in to the luggage arrival, to the staff that cleaned our room, to the service... More

Back again for the fourth year and we still love the place! It was our first stay in the main building and I have to say we enjoyed it even more. After a long day wine tasting, relax in the bar before dinner and enjoy a chat with James, the excellent Food & Beverage Manager, and then move on to... More

This place is gorgeous but we got off to a bad start when they completely forgot to bring our luggage from the car--after an hour and a half we had to call and ask what happened. We paid extra for an upgraded room and I think the only difference the view--the room was not particularly large. This is a special... More

If I could live in a hotel, I might choose this one. It's heavenly. This was the second time my husband and I visited and it didn't disappoint, if anything it just cemented my views that we need to win the lottery so that we can go every year. The hotel is set in the Piedmontese hills among what seem... More

There is a lot to love about this hotel. The staff are universally excellent - friendly and helpful. The room was fantastic, with a lovely small terrace too. The gym, spa and pool are great - especially the salt bath caves. The whole place is wonderful. The two things that really push it to stellar levels are the location and... More

Everything about Relais San Maurizio is first-class. Every member of the staff we met was friendly, helpful and professional. Our room was gorgeous with a small terrace overlooking the Piedmont hills. The spa was beautifully designed, with excellent facilities - I got two treatments and they were both very good (the therapists really know what they are doing). And of... More

What a stunning facility of unparalleled quality and charm! The staff were exceptional, the food divine. I would highly recommend upgrading to a Junior Suite or Suite in order to take advantage of the breathtaking views of the vineyards below. Truly a highlight of our 2 week luxury experience through Italy and Switzerland.
