I lived in this hotel on monthly basis. Its situated near roadtown, capital of tortola. It is very near to ship ferry and market. Riteway super markets are also nearby. There is uphill slope of around 200 mtr and then comes this hotel. Common swimming pool which is maintened. Rooms are good and spacious. Very cheap hotel to stay ,... More

OK-this is not the high class Hilton, but we found it adorable. The rooms were clean, the hallway of white tile immaculate. We used the pool at least twice a day the week we stayed here and it was clean and refeshing. The staff was incredibly gracious and helpful in guiding us to places to see, eat and helping us... about a 10 minute walk from the downtown core up a bit of a hill, but gorgeous views. nice pool, fridge in room, staff great, restaurant good for lunch. I don't think they serve breakfast. We bought some fruit and yogurt and had that in our room. very economical.

- - - - - - BASICS - - - - - - PRICE: We emailed the hotel in advance for a price quote. Because we were staying for 8 nights, they told us that we qualified for their special rate for staying one week (plus pay for one additional night). I printed the email and brought it with me.... More

Arrived and they didn't want to honor the rate he had confirmed with an e-mail. It was down hill from there. No place for breakfast except walk all the way into town. No coffee. A/C didn't cool room becaused the windows leaked so bad. Find somewhere else even if you have to pay more.

Stayed here for a week in January. Was on business and all I wanted was a clean, quiet, comfortable room. Got exactly that plus friendly staff and a good Thai restaurant on site all at very reasonable price.

Smelled like curry, rooms were dirty, not clean. They thought a single bed qualified as a double and try to charge us a different price from when we booked it. Pro: Steve, he is "the taxi" for the hotel. He is great, better rates than other taxis there, nice and fun.

We recently did a two week bareboat charter in the British Virgin Islands. We booked one night at the Hotel Castle Maria prior to our charter. Upon arrival the Hotel refused to honor the price quoted, for three people, when we made the reservation. We had the reservation number and the original price quote but it did not matter to... More

We were forced to stay at this hotel after a mishap that caused us to miss the ferry back to St. Thomas. Of course, we weren't actually forced, but after an exhaustive day and not wanting to pay for another taxi and hunt for another hotel we felt like we had no choice. The room was worn, the bedside lamp... More

A group of eight of us stayed at Hotel Castle Maria in Feb. 2003 for one night prior to departing on a bareboat charter. I selected the hotel and made the reservations and I'm probably lucky that these people are still my friends. We were trying to go budget and I guess that we got what we paid for. They... More
