I traveled alone to St Martin and stayed at Esmeralda. It was an incredibly nice, relaxing and safe stay. The beach is gorgeous and the rooms are very spacious and clean, the hotel grounds are extremely well maintained. We just stayed one night at this place and had a very large room with some sea view. Villas composed of 4 or 5 rooms, sharing a (small) swimming-pool, are scattered in a nice garden. Our second visit to this lovely place in 2 years - very clean, wonderful staff. Only negatives: almost no pressure in the shower on a regular basis (and the toilets as well at times). Had one of the few ocean view rooms and what a view! All rooms have a kitchenette fully stocked with utensils, etc. Again, extremely clean, friendly.... more
