St. Maarten/St. Martin is a unique island shared between France and Netherland. A little European and a little Caribbean. This is what you need to keep in mind when selecting the hotel; they are definitely different than those in Mexico, Dom. Republic or Cuba. There are only a few all inclusive hotels on this island: Sonesta Maho Beach, Sonesta Great... more

Upon arrival on Saturday we were handed a key and given the room number. No explanation about the premises (where amenities were or extra linens). The bartender was quite rude at the Tortuga Cafe, I asked for a drink just as one of his friends approached and he carried on a conversation for a few minutes before completing my order.... more

I would not go back to the Sonesta for one reason, the staff!! The wait staff was rude and unfreindly, obviously dont like white tourists. The bartenders have no personality at all, and cant even make a decent drink! Stay somewhere else, and visit Mullet bay beach, its beautiful!! more

Overall, a great trip and well worth the money spent. We have been to several all-inclusives over the past few years (Dom. Republic, Cuba, Panama, etc.) and this one was by far our favourite. The weather was great and the constant sea breeze kept it from being to hot in the sun. The food/drinks were great--no complaints here (particularly for... more

This hotel looks good, location is OK and he airport is more of an amusement than a problem. But all is not quite right. Staff are variable in their approach and service is sometimes surly. Food is OK, rooms are OK... all nothing special other than some of the views and sunsets. I recommend going onto roof of 7th floor... more

I loved it: the location allowed us to view the water and passing ships and also walk out the front door to a great nightlife. The pools were well kept, there were neat seating areas along the water. The bars were well-stocked with drinks AND fun people. The food was delicious, though a little over priced. But hey, it's a... more

Recently I took my teenage daughter on vacation at Maho Bay. The location is great with alot to do within walking distance. Also you can catch the bus right outside the hotel which costs a couple bucks to go downtown. The room was comfortable and clean. Maho does not have its own restaurant. There are three hotels/condos right next to... more

It's a lovely resort--not brand new but we knew that. Very clean, great service from everyone. We were in the 4-story building overlooking the pool and sea and runway--beautiful! Had requested kingsize bed but got 2 doubles which was not a problem. The food in the Palms Grill was exceptional and the buffets were also very good. Had no problem... more

My spouse and I stayed at the Sonesta for one night and were so displeased that we promptly left the following morning. The room overlooked a large water plant/manufacturing place of some sort. The room was very musty and didnt seem like it had been cleaned in quite awhile. Room service would not picked up when I called so I... more

We booked this all inclusive through Ivan Parilla at VacationsToGo, noteworthy because of the AMAZING deal he obtained for us. One thousand dollars less than the resort site, and hundreds less than Expedia with no middle man fees. Call or email Ivan and let him do the rest! After reading some of the unflattering reviews on this site, I was... more
