It was interesting to see, as one post mentioned, such a wide variety of reviews about this place. We stayed there a couple months back and felt it was time to put my 2 cents in. I think it all comes down to what your expectations are about this hotel beforehand. It was my boyfriend and I traveling together (both... more

I agree with the previous post that at some point when there was more money spent on the place it was probably very nice. In my mind the concept was good but there was not enough money to hire and pay the required amount of staff needed to truly make it a nice place. We too had to request an... more

St. Lucia was amazing. The hotel was beautiful. The beach was pristine. The staff was laid back but super friendly and helpful. The airline lost my luggage so I talked to the staff everyday they were so nice and made it easier on me. The Jungle Bar on the beach made my stay so worth it. I left with an... more

First off I should say that I have never felt absolutely compelled to write a review, but I wouldn't want anyone else to have the experience we did. The actual location of the Mago is really very nice and the place reeks with character and it must have been truly beautiful at one time. Having said that, it is definitely... more

I stayed at the Mago Hotel last month, and could not have been more pleased!! I can not begin to express the exciting time I had while staying here. The hotel sits cliff side, making the view simply BREATHTAKING! I went with a few friends and we all loved our room, the staff was amazing and so fast. The Jungle... more

My wife got food poisoning while we stayed here. As there are often cats jumping up on the tables drinking the coffee cream out of the containers, it is not hard to imagine how she may have gotten sick. It is true that there are dogs and roosters which make noise. But the sound of the fax machine ringing all... more

My Wife and I and my sister travelled to St. Lucia for Christmas week 2008. I read the various reviews of Mago Estate Hotel before traveling there. Some where really great and others terrible and it was hard to understand how the reviews could be about the same place. After staying there myself I understand a lot better. I think... more

We travel frequently, and like out of the way, unique places. St. Lucia was absolutely beautiful - but the Mago is the ONLY hotel we've EVER checked out of early because of being unhappy. We wanted to leave badly enough to forfeit payment for a night. It was dirty, depressing, and boring. We began in the Julious Caesar Suite, which... more

I would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel. We were there for a week in November 2008 and were dissatisfied with many things. The website is extremely misleading and in reality the Mago Estate Hotel is in serious need of refurbishment. Outside the steps are crumbling, the lighting is inadequate and the garden overgrown in parts. The roof... more

The Mago is a wonderful little hideaway nestled on a hillside overlooking the fishing village of Soufriere, just a short walk away. In the morning, we could hear returning fishermen blowing on conch shells to announce that they had fresh fish to sell. There were also roosters signaling morning. The location is beautiful and exotic. We were surrounded by dense... more
