This is the second time we spend a week in this hotel. It is very close to the quiet and marvellous St jean Beach.(which is a must because the hotel swimming pool is too small!) The breakfast is very good and served by very nice ladies. The rooms are clean, but the view on the ocean is a little disappointing. more

We just got back from this lovely place, and it was delightful. Our cottage was quiet and spacious with a spectacular view of the bay. We enjoyed fresh coffee and croissant every morning on our secluded terrace. In the evening, we would sip some wine and listen to the night music of the singing frogs. We would highly recommend this... more

My husband and I have traveled to St Barts 3 times now, and will be arriving there again in March 07 for our 4th visit. We survive our New England winters dreaming of our welcome at Village St. Jean......the family Charneau, the fragrance of fresh flowers that adorn every room, the aroma from their dining room as the day comes... more

Village St. Jean is indeed nice. We had the feeling of having our own place with the little cottage, and being able to cater to our own needs. A little walk to the beach, much harder on the way back because we have to climb up the hill, but a little exercise is no harm. Everything works adequately, and internet... more

My wife and I stayed here in July of 06 and had a marvelous time. Catherine the owner is a delight and there for all your needs. Her staff is helpful and will direct you to great restaurants and not be too intrusive to give you that privacy that you need. The rooms are terrific. We stayed in Cottage 14,... more

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Village St. Jean on our honeymoon in November 2005. We chose a deluxe cottage for 3 nights and loved it! Our cottage was cozy and comfortable but the best part was the beautiful terra cotta terrace facing St. Jean Bay. The terrace (with outdoor kitchen) was spacious enough for two chaises, a... more

Firstly I would wish to cover Hotel Village St. Jean (VSJ) , followed by some general observations about travel to St Barths (SBH) from the UK, via St Marteen (SXM). It can be done in a day. We stayed in mid February 2006 at VSJ for 9 nights in a deluxe cottage and found it very good indeed. The staff... more

I have stayed at Village St. Jean about ten times. There is nothing as cozy, pretty, fun, etc. as this little jewel of a hotel run by the loveliest family, The Charneaus! The rooms are wonderful; location fabulous; their restaurant has wonderful food; and you always feel so welcome. Most guests rebook as they get in their cab to head... more

As with St. Martin(the French side last year), the first question is the island itself. St. Martin was overdeveloped and disappointing, even though where we stayed was wonderful(L'Esplanade). The island itself makes a big difference, unless you are staying at the hotel and pool the whole time. St. Barths is expensive and more difficult to get to since you take an... more

My wife and I found Village St. Jean to be a lovely and affordable family-operated hotel. We stayed in a standard room for 6 nights at 190 Euro/night. The staff were warm and very approachable esp Phillipe and the bar staff at Terrazza; the Texas woman's review about the staff being haughty I did not understand or agree with AT... more
