Searching for a rustic Caribbean experience seemed daunting to us. We didn't want a vacation where we languished on the beach sipping Pina Coladas. No fear. The volcanic Island of Saba has no beaches--but plenty of rugged hiking, diving & snorkeling, breathtaking scenery, delicious food, and peaceful people. No hawking of beads & braids here. And when my husband became... more

I stayed at El Momo for a five-day visit in mid-January. The owners were very obliging and prompt to book my stay over email, including a (somewhat overpriced) airport transport from a friendly man named George. The property is as advertised- secluded, peaceful, beautiful, with rather spartan rooms and healthy breakfasts. I thought the prices were fair given the generally... more

We were absolutely enchanted by the charming tropical and secluded feel of the life at El Momo. It was simple living but completely adequate and extremely relaxing. Great hiking up and down Saba's steep roads and trails. No need for a rented car, just use taxis and walk. The extreme walking is the best part, very renewing, and very relaxing... more

El Momo cottages are perfect for anyone wanting an escape from the trappings of modern life. Go there and you will always want to go back. Make sure you attend one of their communal dinners. more

El Momo Cottages was my first stop on the breath-taking island of Saba. Although very few people have heard of Saba it is well known among divers as being one of the best dive destinations in the world. I believe Saba is truly one of the Caribbean’s best kept secrets and would rate the island as number one for anyone... more

The view, the frogs singing at night, the cool breeze through the windows, the peace, comfort, and safety. This is what we enjoyed so much about El Momo on Saba. Oliver and Angelica are the best! The kids are great, their pets are well behaved. What a special family to allow others a peek into their perfect peacful island lives!... more

We had a wonderful 3 days on the green rock. After a week in St. Maarten, Saba felt like an enormous departure from so called "friendly island". Saba was far more friendly and stunningly beautiful. Visiting Saba was like visiting the neighborhood that your parents and grandparents lived in for 80+ years. Everyone treats you like family, you can leave... more

Rustic cottage with great views in a natural setting. Oliver and Angelika, the owners of the hotel, were very gracious, arranging hotel reservations, taxis and for all other needs. WiFi access was a big plus to us, as we used Skype to talk to our kids every night. Breakfast was great too. Don't miss the banana spread. We dove with... more

My wife and I stayed at El Momo as part of our honeymoon trip through Anguilla, St Martin and Saba. The expience we had at El Momo was by far the favorite part of our trip. El Momo and Saba are both truly special. We had the "Cottage in the Sky". The title is fitting as we had a beautiful... more

We stayed 4 nights at the cottage in the sky at El Momo. Wow. our previous stay on a mountain side at a dive site was at Anse Chastenet on St. Lucia and overall this was better. There was more diversity in being able to go to town, have your own kitchen, better diving than St. Lucia, being able to... more
