When choosing our facility for the nights on Saba we stumbled upon El Momo. We were in for simple, charming, close to the shops and far away enough from the shops at the same time! We came from St Maarten, we were in for peace! We also wanted a warm shower and electricity. So.. El Momo! When we booked we... More

The owner Andries is a very friendly host, with a good(our) sense of humour. He can and will arrange anything you like (taxi's, bookings in restaurants,...) The houses are excellent for people who appreciate nature and don't need hairdryers, airconditioning, tv, etc. Like somebody wrote; camping in the rainforest! Indeed. And we liked it a lot. The view, the sounds,... More

I can see why some people either love or hate this place. I LOVED it. It was a week of living in the rainforest, sights and sounds of nature all around me at all times. So if you are squeamish or don't like nature, this is not the place for you... in fact, Saba is probably not the place for... More

Absolutely LOVED my stay here! I wished I had stayed here longer! What a welcome relief especially after I had an awful 2 night stay elsewhere. What I loved: From pretty much wherever you are, you have an amazing vista...into infinity....the sky, the ocean, and the hills. It really just takes your breath away. Even my bathroom had a GORGEOUS... More

I stayed at El Momo for a few days. The place is just beautiful, providing great views and a nice atmosphere. As Saba is a small island, the guests (and the owners) have to live with some particularities like: You are really in touch with nature, so you may meet (harmless) animals on the site, you will enjoy using rainwater,... Absolutely awful. Very unkempt and poorly managed. Needs landscaping as the rainforest is taking over. Lacks screens on Windows resulting in a large bug infiltration each day and night. Standing water in shower with breeding mosquitos. No soap in the bathroom. No access to drinking water. Ants crawling all over toilet!!! It was so disgusting we cancelled our stay, at... More

Dear Juls, El Momo Cottages was clearly not the place for you. Thankfully you found another place on the island that suited you better; obviously as you pay triple the amount as what you would pay for El Momo, you will have more amenities. We try our utmost to explain to our guests what they can expect. In our messages... More

My husband and I flew over to Saba for the day from St. Martin to hike Mt. Scenery. After the hike and going out for some lunch, and touring the area, we headed back to the airport. Unfortunately, the weather was not cooperating, and it was too windy to fly. With no extra clothes, little in the way of cash,... More

I just returned from a very relaxing break on Saba were I went diving and hiking. I stayed at El Momo Cottages. This was a great choice as I was on a budget. The hotel was very decent with good rooms and bathrooms. The best thing of it all were the views they were AMAZING. My private little balcony area... More

We had a wonderful stay at El Momo. The views are amazing and it is a very peaceful place to stay. If you don't mind a little exercise the town is a short walk away where you can find restaurants and supermarkets. Andries was a fantastic host. He was friendly, helpful and prepared a lovely dinner for the guests one... More

I discovered Saba and El Momo 5 years ago a bit randomly as I was looking for an ''excusrsion'' during a St-Maarten stay... and what do you know, I have returned to Saba every year ever since. The island and its inhabitants are a treat in and of themselves. Everybody is nice all the time and the landscapes are surprisingly... More
