We stayed in Dec 2013 and this hotel has a good location in that its close to the point de bout ferry so you can get to the capitol fort de france in about 10 mins. That's the only positive- the beach is man made and if you speak french or creole then you are ok- no English speakers in... More

Booked four nights and only stayed for two nights as I got called back to the office and I was happy to return. Communication was a struggle since the staff spoke little to no English which made it a challenging from the moment I arrived to check to moment I check out. The breakfast buffet was average, enough options. Dinner... More

While the property is nice and the rooms are clean, this hotel is a disappointing place to stay for under 50 year olds. There is also a communication issue, since most of the staff does not speak English.

The hotel is clean and basic. Staff was very friendly, mostly french speaking but we were able to communicate. The room was clean and the king size bed was comfortable. Pool area is nice but filled with screaming kids. Beach is small and the seas are rough. We were there only one night after a sailing charter, but they allowed... More

Overall the hotel is nice, beautiful gardens, good rooms and good location. But the non-English speaking staff severely limits service, and they were mostly unhelpful for each and every need we had even when they understood what it was (eg obtaining ferry timetable for Dominica). So if you are not a French-speaking guest be prepared to have difficulties.

We arrived at Hotel Carayou and the bellhop took us to our room. Immediately after he left we looked around and decided we were not staying in that room for the following reasons; the walls needed a good coat of paint, the door seemed like it was broken into as the wood had that sort of roughness. The towels should... More

Very clean and spacious and for the price adequate. The "beach" isnt much to write home about and the water is very choppy there making it difficult to swim. Hotel staff can be a little grumpy and rude. Breakfast buffet is good. Good location.

I find Martinique to be expensive... and of poor value. I had stayed the previous weekend at the Fregate Blue hotel which was charming in a "grandmother's cottage" sort of way... great people, great view but a little too close to nature for me (e.g. 2 mosquitoes in the room feasted on m ankles. This time I needed to find... More
