Casa Alta Vista is a great choice for any traveller who is looking for an affordable base to explore the island from. It is a little further from the main street, but only by minutes. It is by no means luxury accommodations but it has all the basics with a few perks! - Each room has a little "porch" in... more

Let me preface this by saying I am not one that prefers all inclusive travel. I more prefer laid back hidden gems. I have stayed and loved hostels in Spain, laid back beach resorts in West Africa, Rincon Puerto Rico and Mexico. I like off the beaten path places, so my critical review is not due to being one who... more

my husband and i stayed her with my sister and brother-in-law for four nights. the two rooms we had were clean, straightforward, and a great value for the money. they are not big or fancy: but, when you're in vieques, you really only use the hotel room to sleep and shower! the hotel's location is excellent: close enough to the... more

If you can put aside the dogs barking at 3 AM, the cold showers, spider webs on the ceiling, which is metal, so during a rainfall sounds like you're being shotgunned, your neighbor's toilet flushing sounding like it is in your room, dingy rooms...this is the place for you. Just around the corner we discovered Esperanza Inn at the same... more

Lots of pros and cons to this guest house. It is on the main road in Esperanza so everything is easy to get to and within about 8 minutes walking, but away from the main part of town, so it is mostly quiet. However, it is in the residential part of town so it can get a little noisy at... more

Our family of 4 stayed here for 2 nights, which was plenty. Biggest complaint: Our room was filled with mosquitos. Wife and daughters woke up with a lot more bites than they went to bed with, either from mosquitoes or other bed bugs. When we checked in there were bloody mosquitos smashed on the walls in various places around the... more

My wife and I stayed at Casa Alta Vista for 2 nights in December. Overall, the room was worth the price. The room we had was small but had enough room for two people (assuming you aren't spending much time in the room). The bathroom was sufficient and for the most part clean. We actually had a spectacular view of... more

We just returned from Vieques. Tha hotel is well located from Esperanza, the beach and the restaurants. The acommodations were simple but very clean with a small fridge and a microwave in the room. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and very helpful. They made our reservations for the Bio Bay tours with Island Adventures and it was perfect. Perfect hotel... more

We have just returned from a 4 day stay at Casa Alta Vista. The hotel was only 5 minutes walk from our favorite breakfast hangout, "Belly Buttons", in the sleepy town of Esperanza. We enjoyed a lazy afternoon lounging on the patio, enjoying both a mountain and ocean view and listening to the random crowing of roosters from surrounding houses.... more

My wife booked a stay in this house/hotel in preperation for my cousin's wedding on Isla de Vieques, and it turned out to be an entirely terrific descison. The owner, Mark, and his staff were incredibly accomodating with everything, and they went out of their way to ensure that we not only knew where we were going, but that our... more
