I believe someone else has already said the experience was like staying with family, but, this is simply the perfect phrase to describe the experience. This isn't a hotel, it isn't pretentious, and it certainly isn't mainstream--and I LOVED it!! To me, part of the allure of going to a foreign country is to be somewhere and do things out... more

La Paloma Guest House was where we stayed and experienced a real vacation: Relaxed, Ate Authentic Food, Listened to the Sounds of Nature, Absorbed the Beauty and Theraputic Sights and Sounds of Several Beaches, Experienced Natures Beauty in the Rain Forest, and met Friends that soon became our Extended Family that made this Vacation Real. Nilda is an excellent cook,... more

After researching where to stay in PR I found La Paloma on Trip Advisor and from the reviews decided to stay here. When we arrived we were greeted warmly with a hug and a short tour of the property. The room was clean with a large shower, cable tv, kitchen, and amazing views. Nilda, the owner, is one of the... more

We stayed at the paloma guest house and to our surprise it was home away from home. The welcome even from the phone as we were heading there was incredible!! Nilda kept in touch with us all throughout the travel. we ran into terrible traffic so we got there a bit later. She waited for us, and stay in touch... more

Staying at LaPaloma was like visiting family in the country. Nilda and Michael (owners) welcomed us in as if they had known us for years. They are located in the lower hills of the rain forest and the views are breathtaking! (See our pictures) I had my 10 year old daughter and 14 year old niece with me and at... more

We stayed at La Paloma for 2 nights - though we had reservations, when we arrived we were told that our room had been given to a last minute arrival, and that an "alternate room" (downstairs) had been made ready for us. Our room was extremely unclean (even the floor had not been swept and had numerous dead insects and... more

The best thing about the guesthouse is the owner- who is extremely friendly and welcoming. She not only cooked an amazing meal for us but when she realized we weren't prepared to spend the entire night listening to the coqui frogs, she came up with a series of activities for us ( an evening ride on a boat to a... more

My husband and I traveled all around Puerto Rico on our vacation and the evening we spent at La Paloma Guest House was one of the best evenings of our trip. The owner was hospitable beyond belief, and the accomadations were clean and beautiful. When we arrived late in the evening, we were warmly greeted and ushered to our room... more

First of all, to the people who wrote about La Paloma being less than upscale, I'm not really sure what they were expecting for accomodations in the middle of the rainforest for $65 a night. La Paloma is not fancy by any means, but it is a clean and really peaceful place to stay. I and 3 friends just returned... more
