We are actually still at the Coqui Inn for another two nights (why, I don't know, maybe we're numb to it all by now) but I had to write this review. First off, if you like cleaniness or are picky about things like: housekeeping's long hairs on the floor, dingy sheets with questionable stains, the intercom to housekeeping being right... more

Since this guest is still at Coqui Inn, I would greatly appreciate it if they would stop by the front desk and ask for me - Juan (General Manager) or Rick (Owner). I have checked with the front desk and they don't recall anyone complaining about their room. Certainly, I would expect anyone so unhappy with our accommodations to report...

I've stayed at enough "budget hotels" to know that budget doesn't have to mean dirty, unfortunately, in this case it seems to. We stayed at the Coqui at the beginning and end of our trip to Puerto Rico, and in both cases had problems with our room. The second time it was really bad, the sheets clearly were just flipped... more

**THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT** I booked this place because it was cheap and I had a long layover between Tortola to IAH. The location is great because it is 10 minutes away from the airport and a very short walk to Carolina beach. Unfortunately, you can hear freeway noise or any noise and it doesn't seem the cleaniest. I... more

Good points: good service and staff, pools, free wireless internet, some nice tiled lobbies, ok restaurants on premises (esp. the Chinese/Japanese one). Isla Verde Beach—a ten minute walk--is wonderful. Bad Points: noise was a constant problem as rooms all had open vents to the lobbies, many rooms were oddly shaped with broken or antiquated light fixtures, some had beds that... more

Thank you for your constructive comments about Coqui Inn. Very few of our rooms open to the lobby but based on your feedback we have repositioned the video machines and had their volume reduced to a level where it should not be a problem for future guests. Beds and room location are always a matter of personal choice, so we...

First time in Puerto Rico..read all reviews and this sounded like a good way to spend less on hotel and more time on beach. After arriving at this place..I wouldn't even stay here at the Coqui Inn if it was free! To even call it a hotel or Inn is incorrect. The rooms are similiar to a dirty gas station... more

I believe that this is a false review that in no way relates to Coqui Inn or any of our rooms. I have shown this review to all front desk, housekeeping and maintenance staff and none can identify a guest with similar complaints. I have personally walked through each of our rooms to make sure that this does not reflect...

I travel a lot. And everywhere - US, Europe, Asia... And from my experience I can say - for the money you pay it IS the best place in San Juan to stay! I went to Puerto Rico to get some sun, to relax on the beach and to see the old city. And the location of the hotel was... more

We only stayed here one night before departing out of San Juan since it was close to the airport. We arrived around 11pm and had to be back up 430am the next morning. The gentleman working the front desk seemed very annoyed that he had to get up from playing cards with his friends in the lobby to check us... more

Because of this review and several others with similar others, I've moved back to Puerto Rico and have taken a full-time, hands-on, management position as owner/manager of Coqui Inn. My name is Rick - and if anyone has any problem during their stay at Coqui Inn, please ask for me at the front desk. If I'm not around and Juan,...

The Coqui Inn was really an interesting place. Check-in took forever, I still can't understand what we were waiting for. Our room was pretty strange, we had a whole wall full of cupboards and closets and there were board games and all kinds of weird things in them. We had a little kitchenette and a table, which was cool. Then,... more

This is the equivalent of a 3rd world motel. It is a combination of buildings mixed into a residential area. The rooms are in a maze of hallways with iron gates to some of the areas that can only be entered and exited by key which in the event of an emergency could pose a risk. The construction is flawed... more

Coqui Inn is a nice place to stay, sleep, shower and explore beautiful Puerto Rico. I originally intended to stay here because they accept pets. When I read the reviews I decided to leave my dog home. However, we found a beautiful stray who no one would adopt so we decided to keep him. We called Coqui in and made... more
