We truly enjoyed our 2 nights at Hotel Plaza De Armas. We had done our research and were aware ahead of time of the small elevator and inside room with no windows...neither issue was a problem for us...it adds to the charm and quaintness of this historic hotel. Also, there was so much to do...we basically were only in the... More

It's definitely not the Hilton family of hotels; however, if you're looking for a convenient location to use as a base point for visiting the sites in Old San Juan, this is the place! Honestly can't comment on the Wi-Fi as I never got around to asking but the room was adequate, the hotel staff was friendly, and the bakery... More

Things to consider about this hotel: 1. Wi-Fi is free, but only in the lobby 2. Breakfast is not included 3. No tubs in the bathroom 4. Rooms have small t.vs, I am guessing 20" 5.Bed was not very comfortable 6. Thin sheet is what is used for sleeping (picture provided) 7. AC unit is not quiet Positives about this... More

Some would call it quaint. The staff was very friendly. All the other reviews are about right. I would stay again for location. Building is over 150 years old so there are some quirks to staying there. Our AC was Ok and we could not adjust. We stayed outside of San Juan the night before our cruise and then here... More

I liked the Hotel Plaza de Armas. My room was an interior single which was fine since I was traveling alone. The hotel manager was very nice and very helpful, offering good advice on sites to see in Old San Juan and recommendations for restaurants. A big plus was the location of the hotel as it is in walking distance... More

When we arrived, the manager, Luis Garazon, did not immediately recognize that we had a reservation. When I originally booked the room, I apparently was misunderstood;the reservation was apparently entered for Feb. 14 instead of Mar. 14. When he realized what had happened, Mr. Garazon not only found us a room, but provided it without charge! In addition, after checkout,... More

Hotel is clean and staff is courteous. But the elevator keeps breaking down. One of my friends got stuck in the elevator and had to be pulled out. The electronic locks on the 4th floor as well don't work well. So don't get a room on the 4th floor.

We stayed here one night pre cruise. I was late booking a hotel so this was the only one left in old San Juan on a Saturday night. I paid $164 including tax for a room with no window. That wasn't a big deal our cabin on the ship was inside too. Bathroom was clean. There were no bedside lamps... More
