Great people, comfortable, quiet without all the craziness of large families little kids. They treated me great! It's a block from the beach and walking distance to everything. I would definitely stay again! The walk to the room was private, beds are super comfortable and the ac blows super cold

Where to start. Photos online looked nice, authentically Spanish, non-corporate chain. Reception fine but steps leading up to lobby and to rooms. Booked the 'deluxe king-size room'. Once out of the lobby area, the corridors to rooms looked like a cheap hostel, walls decorated with cheap woodchip paper and doors to rooms just paper thin. Our door didn't open very... More

A broken wall socket. the lamp is pulling off the wall. The bathroom has 2 rooms, 1 is the shower (Tiny) and 2 is the... More

We stayed at El Canario by the Lagoon prior to leaving on our cruise and had a great time, however we booked El Canario Inn after the cruise, and expected that it would be a similar stay. However upon arriving and realizing that there was no lift, and having to carry all our luggage up three flights of stairs to... More

Nice and clean room and u can choose fan or aircon. Super helpful staff and one of the best locations. An organic/vegeterian-minded store on the other site of the street, Puerto Ricos best burger place 100m away and 24 supermarket 150m away. The breakfast was kind of simple and unhealthy (pastries, white bread and suger covered cereals) should atleast ad some... On the evening of my arrival 2/24/15 while I was in bed sleeping a male hotel guest tried to break into my room while I was there. The phone in the room was not working, not connected, no security on the premises and after approx. 20 mins with this crazy young man banging on my door, putting dents in the... More

We chose El Canario Hotel for its proximity to our car rental office and the cruise port, plus it is within easy walking distance to many restaurants and shops in Candado. The hotel is quaint and certainly is well located. However, depending on which side of the hotel you choose, you can be kept up at night by the sound... More

Reception desk personnel saw us- we could see them yakking inside, but they left us standing outside in the hot sun for several minutes before opening the door. They were rude and indifferent to us and we never felt welcomed there. The manager lied to us when we asked if the room faced the street. He said it faced the... More

I stayed at this hotel from Feb.17-20/ 2015. I read the reviews and found them to be fair so this review is my take on my 2 day stay. If you are looking for a short stay over, clean room, no frills such as room service, on a budget where you will use that money to see the sites and... More

El Canario is called Canario Boutique Hotel on Expedia. "Boutique" to me means unique, charming, intimate. Not cheap, poorly maintained, uncomfortable. The front and lobby do look like the pictures. Charming entry, black and white floor, nice and promising. At the check-in desk, we were told we had been re-booked to a sister property called "Casa Caribe", down the road.... More
