There is no sign that shows the gate of The Gallery Inn. I asked this very question and the guy answered me " you will know why when you get inside." Sure enough when we stepped inside that gigantic and heavy gate, I felt like I just went through a time machine. This place is not for everyone to stay... More

To say that the Gallery Inn is "unique" is an understatement. It is a rustic inn with a combination of guest rooms and gathering spaces that is unlike any I have ever visited! We stayed there recently for three nights in one of the upstairs suites (the "Ocean" room). It was spacious, comfortable and clean and had an amazing view... More

This place is great. The location is between the two major forts in Old San Juan. As you enter through the gate you are transformed into a paradise of old world charm, endless art and sculpture. The Gallery Inn has many interior open air courtyards, plants, fountains, statues and busts. You walk on bricks that are probably over three hundred... More

My wife and I spent a full week at the Gallery Inn in the Artist Room "Marrion." Considering its location, staff, and unique atmosphere I'd highly recommend it to like minded travelers. As others reviews have mentioned, this is a boutique hotel and won't be for everyone. The hotel itself was originally a bunch of separate buildings that have been... More

We stayed for two nights in the garden room during our visit. The property is very beautiful with several courtyards and an old San Juan feel. We would recommend it. The staff was friendly. The location is great for walking access to all of old SJ.

An unbelievable place filled with paintings. sculptures, birds, orchids, warmth and incredible charm. Felt like we were extended family who had come home to spend time with our beloved great aunt Jan and all our cousins, (the staff), in an atmosphere that is welcoming, inspiring, historic and quirky-elegant. Tremendous place - a gem !!!!!

Stayed in Viejo San Juan in perhaps the loveliest, hippest boutique hotel of my experiences. I could walk to La Perla (the beach), and dine and drink in there boat house overlooking the sea. The dinners we're simply amazing. It's a walk through time, in any direction, to galleries and bars and churches et al. The owner is an artist... More

This place is definitely a love it or hate it type of place. The owner is a sculpture artist and her work is all throughout the inn. They do happy hour at the patio area every night from 5-6:30 and offer $5.00 wine and the owner is there if you have any questions about the Inn. It's actually 6 houses... More

Simply put, The Gallery Inn allows its visitors to enjoy Old San Juan the way it was meant to be enjoyed -- in a historic building with a friendly local staff and within walking distance of everything you could want to do. You can stay in a fancy resort anywhere, but if you want to experience Old San Juan at... More

Forget any preconceived notions about hotels. If you can't enjoy this place you lost your soul somewhere. A hodge podge of vastly different rooms from old houses blended together, an 80 year old hostess with a parrot on her shoulder and everywhere the busts the sculptor hostess crafts. No coffee makers in rooms. No TV. But we had a room... More
