We stayed at the Gallery Inn for two nights in April after a wedding in Rincón. We made our reservation the morning of our arrival in Old San Juan -- the staff was helpful in accommodating our last-minute plans. Finding the entrance to the hotel by car was a little tricky. There is no sign on the street for the... More

This is a quirky little inn that is full of twists and turns and interesting creatures and sculptures. We will definitely stay there again. We lucked out and were upgraded to the Ocean room -- huge room with a sitting area and a private terrace looking over the ocean. The rooftop terrace is wonderful. The breakfast is simple but filling... More

I stayed at this property from April 20-21. Taxi from airport is about $25 US. Drive is about 20 mins from airport. Upon arriving at the property is very odd. It is an old concrete brick structure that has a heavy old rod iron gate. Beyond the iron gate is where your vacation starts. When you enter the gate, you... More

The hotel is a living garden room full of art, sculpture, fabric, brick paths, trickling fountains, court yards, private spaces, open roof top spaces with a 360 degree view of Old SanJuan. Outdoor candle lit dining under the stars is magical, as is the food delicious. Our room was large with air conditioning- comfortable bed, quite a small bath, but very... More

Its located on the trolley route...but the trolleys are a bit unpredictable, its about a 15 walk to some of the san juan attractions..liked the room we were provided, with an ocean view a small nook with a reading desk and some books, the bed was comfortable and the room had a few interesting quaint touches...all across the hotel there... My husband and I and two of our friends spent two nights at this lovely art filled fantastic hotel and we loved every minute of it. The location in old San Juan is superb. The place is part mixture art museum and hotel. It is truly a visual feast to the eye. A small excellent continental breakfast is provided every... More

Luxurious? No. But what character! Super clean? No. But how do you really clean something that's hundreds of years old? We loved how quirky it all was... the winding pathways, no two rooms alike, a different experience around every corner. We are not "artsy" people, but can absolutely appreciate it, and there was art EVERYWHERE. The "hotel" (it was more... More

Stay clear of the "Brown" room. It is an interior room in the "artist" class. The room is very tight, humid, musty, and does not offer an exterior window. Additionally, you will very clearly hear your fellow guests in nearby rooms. On a positive note, the wine deck will offer one of the best views in Old San Juan. More

Utterly bonkers, with plants/courtyards/exotic birds/statues/hidden rooms/turrets/garrets/fountains everywhere. The HIlton it ain't. My first impression on our rainy arrival, after struggling to identify the entrance, was "shambolic, ramshackle, delapidated". Our room (Jonathan) was leaky and although a "suite", the second bed was a single iron bed the likes I of which I haven't seen since childhood! The food in the restaurant... More
