We booked this hotel based on a review from Lonely Planet. We were looking for something a little different....far from the madding crowd...not a modern box! Although it took us a while to find this hotel (we were in a rental car) we sure saw a lot of Old San Juan and felt quite comfortable with the streets by the... more

Most definitely make this your place to stay when visiting Old San Juan. The interior was full of art, cozy hidden court yards, plants, and the most beautiful parrots. Wow! Our room was a small room but we loved it. The beds are the best to sleep in. Don't miss the wine and cheese served at 5:30. You can meet... more

We have heard about the gallery from friends. We found the area it was in was wonderful . The building is unique. But to start with there is a reason there is ear plugs on the check in deck ! The small bottle of water you are offered at check in or at any other time is billed to you... more

The Gallery Inn was a truly special experience for all members of the company. The individual rooms seemed to be matched to our personalities. The common areas are lovely: a music room with a grand piano, terraces, courtyards with parrots, a pool - and beautiful artwork everywhere. A gorgeous view from the roof terrace over all of Old San Juan... more

Agree that hotel has great character and a fastastic location, but for the price, we did not think it was worth it. The rooms are small with very few amenities and advertised welcome "wine and cheese event" never took place. Rooms need to be updated. more

spent one night at gallery inn before we went to Vieques for the week. we were floored by the building and its decor. easy to get turned around in this rambling, historic building. but so much fun to see whats around the next corner: open courtyards, beautiful lounging areas, pool, tons of artwork (including a bust of Michelle Obama), or... more

My husband and I were in San Juan for a night before heading to Veiques for a wedding. We had come across The Gallery Inn through an article in Time Out Chicago, and once we arrived, we knew that it was going to be special. The Inn is comprised of several different buildings, there are different stairways and courtyards, discovering... more

This place is absolutely fantastic and we can't say enough great things about it. We are already planning to go back! Jan and her staff are superb and the value of getting to stay here is great. They served up the BEST cafe con leche that I've ever had in my life. the location is very convenient to walk into... more

The place looked and felt as a backdrop from the movie Great Expectations. This cozy and personable hotel was uniquely decorated, with somewhat baroque and exagerrated pieces which gave the feeling of a different era. The people were very friendly, as were the macaws and cockattos who decorated the patio and reception area. They have a self serve bar and... more
