Simply put, The Gallery Inn allows its visitors to enjoy Old San Juan the way it was meant to be enjoyed -- in a historic building with a friendly local staff and within walking distance of everything you could want to do. You can stay in a fancy resort anywhere, but if you want to experience Old San Juan at... More

Forget any preconceived notions about hotels. If you can't enjoy this place you lost your soul somewhere. A hodge podge of vastly different rooms from old houses blended together, an 80 year old hostess with a parrot on her shoulder and everywhere the busts the sculptor hostess crafts. No coffee makers in rooms. No TV. But we had a room... More

The Gallery Inn is one of a kind, so I won't dwell on the history or architecture; you can see plenty of that in other reviews. Simply put, if you are looking for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at an extremely reasonable price, this is your place. The location in Old San Juan simply can't be beat; you can walk to everything.... More

My wife & I celebrated 5 years together a month ago. We had 1 night at The Gallery, 3 nights in St Maarten, then a last night at the Gallery. I had lived a block away from the Gallery when she and had our first romantic days together. I explained this to the gentleman on the phone and he set... More

I have never had a better experience in a hotel of any kind - and certainly never such a unique experience! Staying at the Gallery Inn was the highlight of our trip. It was so wonderful, that we almost hated to leave the hotel at all. It is technically a hotel, but it is also an unofficial museum of art.... More

What a beautiful, cozy, warm, romantic, friendly place to stay. You have to see it to believe it! Pictures don't do it justice. It is amazingly beautiful, the courtyards, the breakfast nook, the pool, the rooftop deck, our room. I've never been anywhere else like it. It's not just the artwork, it's the beautiful plant life that really enhances your... More

It was simply amazing! you're surrounded by art and parrots everywhere. It's like you went to stay at an art-gallery rather than a hotel. It makes you feel like you went back in time. The time goes more slowly there. It's almost magical :-) There is a breathtaking view of the city from the rooftop. Each room has its own... More

Leslie, I thank you for your wonderfully poetic review of my home, art gallery, museum and hotel-in-one! Time does, indeed, go slower here, and perhaps may even go back in time. You've touched on everything we all try so hard to present: a welcoming, comfortable, artistic slice of gorgeous Spanish architecture and history. Yes, it is also true, that all... More

This was my second time staying here, and even better than the last! We were able to secure the Sebastian suite, and it was gorgeous. The room had a luxurious feel to it, while also maintaining it's older heritage. The bed was super comfortable and the air conditioning was super cold. The bathroom had an amazing jacuzzi shower with good... More

We really loved our stay at The Gallery. From the statue at the front gate to the winding stairs that led to our room, we marveled at the visual delights here. A stay here feels like you're sleeping in an open-air art gallery in the middle of a rainforest. The bed was very comfortable and we had a wonderful ocean... More

Tough review. I enjoyed the quirky, artsy rooms and common areas. The pool is really cool and the antique furniture makes it feel like you’re in a medieval castle or 18th Century Puerto Rico. But, the Inn shows its age, some of the rooms have no window, are cramped and it could be cleaner. It is also hard to find.... More
