We stopped by this resort wanting to use their beach for privacy and peace so we could swim in the Blue Lagoon. We had lunch, were treated like royalty (very kind staff) and spent the afternoon on the beach with their wonderful lifeguard sharing stories of Jamaica, goofing with our teen boys, and we met Becky (spelling) and found a... This resort is well located, private, resort. It has a small beach with access to blue lagoon. The grounds and location of the property are great. The poor rating is due to lack of staff at the resort. The staff that is there, is very friendly and helpful (especially Donovan), but the owner has cut back way to much to... More

Hi Manoj, Thanks for your feedback, the following is a response to your concerns; 1. LACK OF STAFF - The majority of the staff were on break in preparation for the extensive reservations coming in after Christmas Day. We had almost no bookings for that day. We only agreed to accommodated your group because you had a serious problem with... More

My family and I stayed at Tropical Lagoon Resort over Christmas (Dec. 25-27, 2015). It was well kept, clean and very private. We didn't feel the usual hassle. The kids loved it. Because of the rains the pool was a bit dirty and so more attention could have been paid to keeping the pool clean. Other than that we loved... More

Don’t be fooled by the manicured gardens of the building. Our group of 13 (3 families with ages between 6-50) ended up having to stay here due to same last minute change of plans. I don’t understand why the reviews are so good. If you are at all affected by the aesthetics of your room, this is NOT the place... More

My wife and I stayed at TLR for about a week in late November and this is just what we were looking for. We were blown away by the well kept modern property, excellent and attentive staff and the surrounding beauty of the Portland areas. Kudos to property manager Tony, chef Trevor and the excellent housekeeping staff. We cant wait... More

Realistically, there was nothing wrong with my stay in this lovely hotel. Grounds were kept clean, the rooms were old fashioned however no more so than any other hotel on the island, staff were extremely hardworking and attentive - only issue was that some rooms in my party experienced more of a 'wildlife' situation than others. FOOD: The food quality... More

This property is ideally located for a chill with some thrill. The staff are all friendly and the layout lends a lot of privacy so much so that it felt like I was at my personal hotel complete with natural beauty, night sounds,...personalized meals on my time..ackee and breadfruit right from the property, rafting, chilling in the lagoon...or the pool... This location was not suitable for a fun group trip. I was disappointed most of all by "the beach" as a lot of the beach games that were planned could not be played. I don't think they should classify that area as a beach in the first place. The hike to the "beach" was long and tiring. It's the same... More

Thank you for your review! As you said, our pristine environment here is geared to complete rest and relaxation. The Blue Lagoon is a swimmers paradise, like a huge swimming pool, calm, no waves, no undertow but extremely deep. The world record freedive (180ft) was recorded here so if you are a non swimmer we advise guests to stay behind... More

TLR was the perfect location for an extended family vacation - convenient, affordable and comfortable. The rooms were spacious and all included fridge and microwave, with one of the units also having a stove, which made cooking for our group of 6 adults and 2 small children, very convenient. The pool was very convenient and perfect for the kids. Best... More

Thank you for bringing your family to our resort. Although we have an onsite restaurant and bar, the villas with kitchenettes give an added flexibility. The Marine lab established at the Alligator Head Fish Sanctuary is moving full speed ahead to bring back the Pristine San San strip to its former glory so the snorkelling will get better. Thanks again... More
