Look, this place is not for everyone and is showing it's age, but there some things that you may appreciate. One is the location that is high on hill with a very nice view of the water. Next, is the three pools, which are all on different levels, with the third giving the feel of being above the hotel, but... More

We stayed one night at Fern Hill hotel in November. I was looking forward to trying a new place in Portland, Jamaica, unfortunately, it did not work out for us. The positives: -Room was very clean -View from the restaurant was spectacular -The continental breakfast was quite tasty. The negatives: -The bathroom that you'd use while in the lobby or... More

My husband and I loved this Place. We are active, independent travelers. We rented a car and traveled through Jamaica. This was our favorite location! We liked it so much, that we stayed 2 extra nights. You are in the rain forest! A short walk down the hill (< mile) and you are at the most beautiful beach in Jamaica... More

The grounds are absolutely lush, it takes your breathe away and the villas are perfectly designed. The front desk staff at the resort are very friendly and helpful. In each villa not only are the bedrooms large, the bathrooms are also amazingly spacious. Fern HIll overall needs some TLC. So much potential, I wish the owners would hire cheap labour... More

Stayed with my husband for one night- only because we were on a tour of the island and was constantly on the move; would have stayed longer if we had more time for Portland. I must say the drive up is a bit lonesome, however, once there you forget that and give in to the exceptional view overlooking the sea.... More

This is arguably the worst place I have ever stayed. To put it simply, it's a rather filthy place with seemingly uncaring manager, though rather nice front desk receptionists. I was made to understand that despite several guests' complaints made to the manager of the facility, no action has been taken to address the various valid concerns of the guests.... More

We arrived at the hotel late evening (thank God). We droved up the lonely road for about 20 minutes and noted that no other vehicle passed us on the way; this meant for us that the hotel would not be full and we would receive better service, however, when we finally got on the property we realized that there were... I travelled with my mother for some r& r in my absolute favorite part of Jamaica. This waqs my first time staying there as I ususally stay at Goblin Hill when in Port Antonio. Fern Hill has the most amazing views of the coastline. The staff were very friendly and the room was clean. If you however looking for a... More

I spent 3 days with a friend and my teenage son at this hotel back in January. I don't believe the price was value for money. The room was nice with a double and single bed. The TV channels wasn't working when we arrived, so we had to contact reception who sent someone over to look at it, in the... More

The two best things about this hotel is the amazing view and the great super attentive and friendly staff. The rooms are comfortable but in sore need of renovating. We had dinner which was good and breakfast which was also good. My main criticism though is that they served instant coffee with the Jamaican breakfast. Nowadays this just wont do.... More
