We booked an entire cottage several months in advance. We were required to wire a cash deposit a week prior to our stay. When we arrived, 2 rooms in our 3 room cottage had been rented out from under us. The manager kicked out the people staying in one of the rooms with twin beds, so my sons shared that... More

Hello. Im so terribly sorry to read this. Rest assured, the matter has been taken care of and heads were rolled - immediately. As you will see from other reviewers, this is not our normal standard. We take pride in our little oasis, though it appears that while management were absent, the cats did play and no work. it is... More

Our room was disgusting. It did not appear to have been cleaned any time recently. There were ants in the bathroom and the floor was sticky and sandy. There was no water in the bathroom or kitchen for the majority of our 2-night stay. Positives: There were wonderful people staying at Mikuzi and we highly enjoyed their company. Also the... More

Hello. Please rest assured the staff present over Christmas will not be cleaning any more. Sadly this is what can happen when the management are not there. We take reviews good or bad very seriously as we have great pride in Mikuzi and treasure its heritage. However I can see you thoroughly enjoyed everything else. I do hope you will... More

We had a wonderful cabin that was peaceful and quiet. Walk to winnifred beach, or catch a route taxi to Long Bay or Port Antonio. Good local food and grocery close by. Go check out Aya Wear just 5 minute walk away, she's also an amazing travel guide.

We stopped by Mikuzi looking for a place to stay to extend our P.A. visit (we were familiar with the place, as we had stayed in their Kingston lodging a few years previously). Chad, who takes care of the place, showed us around and rented us a 3 bedroom cottage at a very good price for three nights. We were... More

Me and my girlfriend visit Mikuzi every chance we get, its a lovely hide-away in the Portland parish. We enjoy the quiet, peaceful ambiance of the place as the environment is nature filled. Winifred beach just a short drive/walk from Mikuzi, love that beach. Otherwise, the rooms are suitable for the nature of the trip (a getaway) and the convenience... More

Stayed here for 5 days and I enjoyed it. The rooms were fair in size and affordable. Customer service was good Chad is a great host . Its not along walk from the beautiful Winifred beach and the night life in Portland is always a good adventure for any tourist. Breakfast and dinner was also good and affordable. Perfect getaway... Great place, lush vegetation and very quiet (apart from the occassional all night parties in the neighbourhood and the omnipresent cicadas and frogs). Not too many mossies either (July anyway). Lovely rooms and a real good price. Gia is very friendly and allows you to treat the place as your own - e.g. there's a small kitchen available to use,... More

Planned to stay three nights in the large cottage, but left after night one, had it when we were invaded by ants, roaches, termites and a large crab in our bedroom. Bathroom toilet flooded and smelled moldy, only one working light bulb and one really foul smelling blanket provided among the bedding. Nice location within short walk to the beautiful... More

We stayed there for 5 nights. The place could be really nice, but it looks like nobody took really care of it for quite a while. There were holes in the mosqito nets, cockroaches coming out of the drawer in the kitchen twice!!, lots olf mold in the fridge, oven with no gas to cook (poor and dirty equipped kitchen),... More

When my friend and I arrived at Mikuzi, we were immediately impressed with how cute and colorful the cottages were. We took a quick tour and decided to book two nights. However, once we got settled in the room we realized that it was filthy. tub had dirt and a used up soap bar in it. spider webs and dust... More
