I love Negril and have been traveling there since the early 80's...the beach, the sea, but most of all the people is why I always return. I have stayed in many of the hotels over the years but my absolute favorite place continues to be Idle Awhile. The rooms are very well appointed, very clean, and really comfortable...great linens and towels. But... More

Everything good already said in reviews is true about Idle Awhile. My husband and I decided to try a beach locale as part of our Negril getaway in January - before we went to our usual fave on the cliffs. We really did love Idle Awhile and all the staff - so much so that we are going back in... More

Had breakfast there on the beach. Used the loungers as a day spot. Excellent food. Had big breakfast eggs, banana pancakes, seasonal fruit. Fresh squeezed OJ perfect. Enjoyed great view of the beach and welcome shade under the trees. Friendly folks and spot on clean. Convenient place in middle of seven mile beach away from hustle-busy near town.

After many years of searching for a perfect vacation Idle Awhile turned out to be a hidden gem. My wife and I spent 7 wonderful relaxing days at this resort. The staff was great, at the restaurant Sonja, Needles, King and Jenny always greet you with a smile .Arron and Erik are on the beach to set up the chairs... More

Beautiful rooms with lovely beds and linens and large elegant porches. Beautiful gardens. Lovely beach with trees for natural shade. Friendly staff. Good food (except the hamburgers). food is not always as hot as would be preferred as kitchen is so far from beach dining area. Great Quesideas, really good mashed potatoes, porriage and poached eggs. Food is not included... More

After our first trip to Idle Awhile last year, we came back again to the same experience we had last year........LOL......Can't beat it.....The condition, staff, food, beach, and total package can't be beat........We wasted 10 years in Negril after buying a timeshare at another beach hotel.......We have already booked next year........we truly have found our home away from home.......This place... We stayed here in August of 2014. This was our first visit to Idle Awhile & it will not be our last! Such a beautiful, small intimate property. We only stayed 3 nights & wish we could have stayed longer. Front desk was great and all staff were very friendly, even down to the female security guard out front. We... More

This was trip #32 and were in need of a relaxing getaway from the beach. We had not stayed on the west end for about 10 years. This place was the perfect fit. We stayed in a second floor garden room. It is cooler and quiter than the ocean front units. We had a pillow top king bed, full kitchen,... More

Finally got to stay here. Very difficult to get rooms due to small number of them and many return guests. We stayed in a 1 BR Garden suite, upper level. Rooms are really nice, although could use better lighting. No real view, but that was expected. Trade off was privacy. Bar and restaurant were convenient, although the setup with the... More
