If you can get a room with A/C and a kitchenette it is worth the extra money. Cottages are close together, and it is a lot of fun if you get along with your neighbors. The property has a great "homey" feeling. Lots of people just chilling on their porches. Beach is great, although beach chairs are wooden. Bring your... More

Funky set of bungalows. I had fan bungalow that had twin beds and lovely porch to hang out. It is basically just next to the beach but has no fence so you might experience a lot of harassment. I actually even had difficulties being left alone on my own porch but well, that is Jamaica. For me first and last... More

I was robbed by knifepoint by 3 people on the property (at the main office) while trying to use the wifi which doesn't reach beyond the office. The thieves are known criminals to the police and to the staff. The security guard knew the prostitute involved and has been under investigation for prior incidents with the robbery of guests. Any... I stayed at roots for one night this past week....For the price I paid, I can't complain too much....For 50 bucks I knew I wasn't in line for anything fancy. All my other reviews have been all excellent so I'm not nitpicky. I didn't care about the no AC or TV....Ive been to Negril 22 times so I've had a... More

We stayed a week at Roots Bamboo in Negril and will not go back again.Between the bar and the other residents, there wasn't much quiet time for sleeping. If you don't like the smell of Ganga, then don't stay here, however, if you want to party and smoke Ganga all day and most of the night every day and night,... More

My fiancé and I had the pleasure of staying here over the Valentine's holiday. The resort has a great, laid back,"no frills" vibe that we fell in live with! Keep in mind that I am a rather spoiled American who travels extensively to mostly 4 and 5 star resorts. Roots Bamboo was certainly outside the scope of the places we... More

When getting to the Hotel we were told by staff their was no booking for us and as I had booked a number of months ago I was not best pleased with this and made up a bit of fuss. However the resort staff sorted it out and gave us a really nice room double room not twin but as... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at roots bamboo for two nights late January 2015. We stayed in one of the newly constructed rooms and we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and nice everything was. For the price, it is by far the best deal that we found in Negril. However, the reason I gave this resort an average rating... More

My usual spot and only hang out is "ROOTS" for years. Was on a 10years hiatus visiting other countries and this of course my very favorite. Very vibesy meeting locals and foreigners alike. This place has undergone major transformation and am loving it; making its' mark of been one of negril's top spot in entertainment and food. The staff is... More
