If you want to experiance authentic Jamaica, the people, the food, the night life then this is the place for you. My boyfriend and I stayed at the Whistling Bird for 6 days and everyday was well spent. The people welcome you and make you feel at home. This is the most comfortable environment I have ever been in. You... more

We stayed at Whistling Bird Resort on the recommendation of a Jamaican friend whose family stays there when they go on a "beach holiday". This was the best decision we ever made! If you enjoy meeting friendly folks who treat you like family from 1st phone conversation to book a room (thanks Bavra) to the moment you walk through the... more

I went on a leisure vacation with my girlfriend.. As soon as we arrived we walked through an open door that led to sand? There was no lobby? A woman greets you named Bavra and she is pleasant but I knew from that moment this wouldn't be a good experience. We go to our room which is small, sink on... more

I am about to book at the Bird again for the third time in 4 years. I was there last year with my young adult kids who really loved the Whistling Bird and want to return. I wanted to post this review of because of some very unbalanced reviewing of the hotel recently. This is a great place with an... more

The staff is wonderful. The cabins are rustic, clean, and roomy. You have to be a pretty big jackass if you can't appreciate the hospitality. No other place compares. The staff treats you like gold. Anything you need, at any time, they will provide for you. They go above and beyond the call of duty. It was great to wake... more

I waqs our 8th time to Negril, we brought another couple with us that we wanted to show how great Negril was. We and had reserved the 2 one bedroom cabins closest to the beach and were promised a/c and TV. When we arrived they said the cabins were full and were going to put us in two upper units... more

We stayed at Whistling Bird for 5 nights in February, which I chose after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor. Like some other reviewers, we always look for places to stay that can give us an experience of the "real" country rather than staying at huge all inclusives or chain hotels. Upon arrival, we were disappointed with our room which... more

My husband and I decided a warm getaway for Christmas was an excellent idea. After spending a few days in Negril and walking past the Whistling Bird several times, we stopped for a drink and to ask about their fine dining. We came to find out that they offer a 5 course dinner option. We went back to the kitchen... more

My wife and I do a lot of traveling and always look for small properties that represent an authentic experience in the countries (often third world) we visit . Large or chain hotels or all-inclusives are never considered. In Negril, we hit the jackpot with WB. From the moment we arrived and received a warm, welcoming hug from Bavril, we... more
