The Hilton Rose hall has been an amazing experience. First class service, food and entertainment. I believe its the best on the Island. The staff are trained to a very high standard and the Jamaicans are a cut above the other properties worldwide. Whilst staying here John McIntosh lead his staff making sure everyone was on point. Aleisha Mullins made sure our stay was very accommodating, checking on us continually. Chadene over delivered with her superb customer service....and never forgetting my morning room attendant Tameka who made us start our day making sure that the room was on point. Reception staff fabulous, security fabulous, Preston adorable and honest....what standards...I'm impressed!!!

My husband and I chose this resort for our 8th year anniversary and booked our trip for a 5 night stay. It's important to note that the hotel does not have a shuttle from/to the airport but we got one in advance from Island Tours. It received good reviews and we did not have a problem to the hotel, although we did see an open jeep with four military men and machine guns traveling in front of us and it was a bit scary. When we got to the hotel we were already pre checked in because we are silver honors members, but our room was not ready. We were not turned off by this because we arrived early around 3pm and check in was not until 4pm. We waited on the patio and had a drink. We couldn't use wifi because we were not assigned the room officially and therefore our login did not work. After an hour I check with the front desk to see if our room was ready but it was not. The lady behind the desk tried to see if she could change us to another room but she said that the view would not be as good and we should wait for our room. And so we waited. It's important to note that we were not the only ones waiting- there were many people at least 25-30 waiting in the waiting room to be given a room key. I went to the spa and got the aromatherapy massage which was excellent and by the time I was done around 5pm our room was ready. Although this first experience did not put a bad taste in my mouth it was a bit disappointing. Some other notes that are important on the trip- the coke does not taste like coke, the service is very slow, the food in general is okay - we tried both the fresh buffet as well as all the restaurants offered. All seemed to serve the same food just slightly different presentation. Although I can't say the food was bad, it was also not the best--- We came on this vacation without our daughter, but I would say that this particular resort is better with kids. There are many families with kids more so than families without kids. The ocean was not what we expected- it was very muggy, dirty, foamy and looked like dirty half and half. You could not see where you were going or what was in the water. I also got seaweed dermatitis the first time I went in because the water was just full of seaweed. There was even a couple man on the beach racking the seaweed out of the water. We later found out that this beach was man made and this is why it is so different, in a bad way. The nurse is there from 9-5, so if something happens after hours you are on your own. The hotel offers kayaks and other forms of water equipment for use for no additional charge which is a bonus but there is also no instruction and the equipment is not in good shape. The evening entertainment is okay. Mostly music performances and some minor dancing. A lot of the entertainment is geared towards the kids and the kids stay out past 10 in Jamaica. This really didn't bother us but it was not the kind of entertainment you would expect at a Hilton resort. We were told by local management that the hotel was recently bought out by a large Investment company from Jamaica and they are making changes to the resort. On an important side note. The towels are never in stock (only in the morning) and then they are all out of them for the rest of the day so you are unable to exchange your towel for a clean towel. Another thing that bothered me were the room doors - the outside doors from the hallway. They are white but they are so dirty with grey fingerprints and marks all over them. I'm not sure if they just don't wipe them or if they need to be repainted but they are really gross- that's the first thing I noticed when we finally got our room key and were able to get into our room. The inside of the room was fairly clean. The floor is tile and it could have been cleaner, the bathtubs and showers are outdated. The cleaning people are very slow to clean the room. We left for breakfast at 8:30am and returned back at about 12 and our room was still not changed. Our sheets didn't get changed even after the room was cleaned even though there were some make up stains on the pillow. So if you don't mind not drinking real coke, not swimming in clear water ocean, you're not a clean freak and you enjoy eating buffet style food this is a good option hotel.

The pictures in the profile of Rose Hall Castles Beach Resort is not correct!! Those pictures are actually of Hilton Rose Hall Resort and Spa. Please be careful when you book. If you want a great resort of such in the picture then find Hilton Rose Hall and book there. That picture is of the Main pool overlooking the cabanas and the bar and grill to the left Seaside Grill. Research before you book!

There is only one place in Rose Hall and it's called Seacastles and it is not a hotel, but private condos that people rent out. Whoever posted this ad and pics is clearly responsible for false advertising! So beware. Wow.

A marvellous place to spend the holidays. The food varied EVERY day and was so scrumptious. The staff were very accommodating and a lovely professional man by the name of Jerome on the front desk took the time to really know his guest. There is more than enough space, entertainment and activities to keep you entertained and if you just want to relax the beachfront awaits you. VISIT ROSE HALL for a 'thrilling unforgettable historical experience. enjoy, mrs Shevell Stewart

The best thing about Montego Bay is the closeness of hotels to the airport. For quick long weekend with pretty water, sun and reasonable prices, this is a good choice. This hotels common areas, restaurants, room cleanliness and the small beach area are well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pillows and bed linens were really, really nice.....did not expect that kind of quality. The breakfast buffet is very good as well as the lunch,(jerk chicken a must), the special restaurant was good, but they insist on a dress code that definitely is not followed! We enjoyed the small water park in the pool area even though we are in our 50's and were definitely in the minority! Who cares? We had fun!

ed at rose hall for 2 weeks we find the hotel to be very friendly a little to friendly towards the men as the woman want passages to england. very good food buffet style. the pools are large with a swim up bar we stayed in november and the weather was very warm but not so it burns. if you go out of the complex be very carefull i did not feel safe you are not left alone by the locals as they badger you to purchase their crafts. My husband and i wanted to walk round the complex at night as we approached the main gate we were told to go back by security on the entrence we were told it was not safe for us to venture further. sitting by the pool drinks are brought to your sun lounger as the waiters walk round and take your order. Their are a lot of wasps which i dont like. Be prepared to tip for everything the locals expect this and feel insulted if you dont. I would go back to the hotel but not back to jamaica a long way to go not to see the locals

We just returned from 8 days at this resort and would suggest that you rethink your choice if you have already reserved here. If you are thinking about Rose Hall because of the price, we would suggest that you look else where. This hotel is so run down and dirty and the food so bad that, that even the water park and nice beach do not make up for the negatives which are really bad food, a confusing all inclusive policy and a generally bad physical plant. The rooms need a serious cleaning and please take off then peeling wallpaper! The cleaning ladies sometimes do a good job and other days forget to clean the bathroom. The hotel is next to a golf course w/ ruins that you are not allowed to visit except before 7 am and after 5:30 which makes photo ops almost impossible! Smoking is everywhere and because it is an all inclusive, people are drinking continuously. We did not like our daughters down stairs at night alone. There seemed to be lots of parents who let their children run wild at night and during the day. We have been to other all inclusives on Jamaica and in Mexico and have never felt as badly as we do about this one.
